We will be processing the rest of the birds hopefully next Saturday. If any one want to come and see how to butcher, you are more than welcome to stop by this coming Saturday. Even if DH doesn't make it home I think that I will do the deed one way or another.

So, is that today, or next Saturday (7/28)? And, are you processing in Enumclaw? If so, I'll try to come to watch and learn.

Dave: you been building any more coop? or is the "Toure de Dave" over?
Im waiting to hear how the feeders are going

Robin: Isn't this nuts? Did you see the photos I posted? Just follow Fly's link back. I think (hope) that the rest of our weekend is suppose to be nice. We have had rain or lightning almost every day for the past 2 weeks (I think 2 weeks). Maybe Heather will come on and verify. The weather has been insane. I have been very worried about birds, but all seem to be hanging in there. Turkeys refuse to use the "cover" I made for them. So I re-convigured them a "better" spot. They seem much happier tonight. They would sit out in the rain. All the orps are doing well, and the seramas are all doing okay.
I have seen more pics on the news, it is insane !
Have you talked to RFF and see how she is doing over there ?
Or VF ???

So all you Eastern Washingtonians...any of you getting flash floods besides Omak area ?

Ok back to work for me, sun is trying to come out here....TRYING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess we really cannot complain about our weird weather...the rest of the country is cooking in triple digit heat, and no rain.
Talked to a friend in PA.......yes PA !!!
3 mo of 108 temps, well dried up, they are using water sparingly for selves & livestock from a few storage tanks, crops are left to die, and so far she has lost over 300 chickens to heat death between her & her parents.
And no end in sight.
I feel so bad for them....
Corn & soy and other crops are failing...and food prices and feed prices are going to skyrocket so bad !!!!!!!!!!!!

that is absolutely awful.

Quote: I am not so sure that the Yakima area (VF) is getting this weather. They have had some H***ish lightning storms (I was down there just 2 weeks ago and there was a crazy storm).

RFF - I have heard a bit from her on FB. She is on high ground so is probably fine. Maybe some run off and I bet her horse pasture is a bit of a lake/pond....but regarding the lightning we have had - there are no substantial fires at this point. We must have received 1.5-2 inches of rain in roughly an hour yesterday (I am just guessing I am not a meterologist and don't know) so any fires are probably out.

Priest Lake, Idaho, had lots of trees blown over. So did Republic area. Part of hiway 97 near Malott got washed over/out the other day. Today looks dry...my poor birds need a day to dry out. Moses Lake had crazy rain (saw on the news). But that is about what I have heard.

Here is another photo of Omak, main street, yesterday afternoon:

Our drains were overwhelmed.

Okay, all this rain today flooded the basement of the hospital - where I work. Our medical records department (where I work) is in the basement. There is a ramp that leads to the basement for supplies. There is a drain (good sized one) for when it rains so it does not flood basement....well, said drain was overwhelmed. There was a good 2.5 to 3 inches of water rushing under the door and garage door that was in the "bay" area. It seeped into the hallways, into our IS department (computer guys), the electronic room, the file room, the supply room...that water did not get much above 1.5 inches in these area...but what a mess. As we were working on our mess, physical therapy and Dialysis personnel came over asking for help...they were flooding. It was absolutely nuts. We called in the fire department to help us pump out water and clean it up. Those guys were great.

Oh, I did not take these photos...I "borrowed" them. Good shots.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS CRAZY! I hope the damage is not extensive!

THAT IS TERRIBLE!!!! My heart goes out to them! Sending them prayers and good vibes.
Here in the Tri-Cities we have had so many thunderstorms. My dad has lived here 65yrs and doesn't remember ever having more than 2 in a year. Thankfully we haven't had any flooding though.
