Anyone know the website/or/address/or/phone of the WSU extension place in Puyallup? I need to take a spider in. A few years ago our neighbor was bitten by a hobo. This year I have been finding what looked like could be hobos all over our yard. Tonight, we found one in the boys room. I need to take it in.

WE HAVE THEM AT MY HOUSE. THEY ARE REDDISH-TAN AND STAND KINDA FLAT WITH VERY LITTLE VISIBLE HAIR AND LONG SPLAYED OUT LEGS. NASTY LITTLE BUGGERS!

Hey y'all! Back from beers/appetizers at Cal's in Kent Station, then we saw The Bourne movie...yummo! Great movie! We almost never see movies so this was really fun!

Yikes! That is scary, sorry that happened and glad it wasn't worse.

Take good care of yourself, Monique.
It scared me pretty bad, but I seem to be just fine. I hope it never happens again. I recall thinking i needed to sit down on the floor, and next thing I knew I was there! I'm drinking water constantly now.

It's gotten cold suddenly! Yesterday evening I was out in my canoe fr a few hours, and the kids were swimming in the lake. Now we are bundled up like it is winter. Chickens are quieter.

My favorite is Crimson Fire, it's the Viking/white with peppers and is PERFECT in quesadillas, nachos, etc. Yummy!

I did not see that one; I'll have to try it. I bought Cougar Gold. It's good, not sure if I like it as much as Beechers Flagship - I think it calls for a blind taste test! Time for a cheese party!

Thanks!

I finally found this link, too... it has links for both the Avian Laboratory and the Plant and Insect Laboratory: http://www.puyallup.wsu.edu/services.html

LOVINCHICKYPOOS: If you have hobos, be careful! My neighbor has a very bad scar from the huge ulcer that the hobo bite gave her. DH and I did a bunch of research tonight. We are *hoping* they are giant house spiders (a relative of the hobo) and not the hobo. Here's a PDF that can help you identify them: http://pep.wsu.edu/pdf/PLS116_1.pdf

I'm still going to pay the $25.00 and have the one we killed checked out. We have way too many of them. If they are giant house spiders, I won't bother to spray - I guess the giant house spider will kill hobos. I hope to verify the appropriate action to take when I talk to the people at the lab in Puyallup. When my neighbor took her two spiders in, they were confirmed hobos. She said it took about 2 days to get the results back.
