When you have a bunch of chicks the game will be even more exciting. They're so fun to watch when they have treats. When my Pudge is given a piece of fruit, she carries it around the yard and fusses. "THIS IS MY FRUIT, JUST LEAVE ME ALONE YOU BUNCH OF JERKS." Of course, some of the other girls will give chase. Chickens are endlessly entertaining.

Quote: I like the heat, but I have found that ice is better. I am not a fan of the cold, it seems to make things worse. Yet an ice pack on my hips works very well. I do have a heated mattress pad, and I use it when I am getting into bed. As soon as I finally get warm, I find that it's best for me to turn it off. Somehow too much heat makes things worse.

I should go to bed soon, but I am scared of how bad I could hurt. I work up this morning crying because of the pain. I no longer can find away to lay down without making the pain worse. I am thinking that I might try sleeping in one of the recliners tonight. I really should lay down with DH. He is leaving in less than two hours. He is heading for the East coast for a week.

This is great to learn everyones ideas of dehydrators.....Just a FYI that i just heard.....teflon is highly toxic to birdlife and the Excalibur has teflon flat sheets..( fruit leather).
I don't know if it applies since the warning was specific to teflon pans....something about the heat releasing a gas that is toxic to them. I have grass parakeets in my house so don't take the chance....but do think this is the model for me too. My daughter says this is true for some cleaning products also.....maybe goes back to the canary in the mine theme. Worth checking out.....
Again thanks for the great information....eliz

Quote: I will admit that over the years, I have really worried that I was truly crazy. I can't imagine why anyone would want to be in this much pain for the fun of it. There isn't any good reason to chose to be like I am. I absolutely hate how much this pain has limited the things that I want to do. At least I know how to cope with the diagnosis, and I intend to make the best of things. It may even allow me access to better treatment options.

I cook with Teflon cookware. i also have at least a dozen very small birds in the same room. They are completely on the opposite side of the room, but the room is very open. To say the least I haven't ever lost a bird due to my cookware. I wouldn't want to test the pans by seriously over heating a pan. My understanding is that the problem with Teflon is when it is to the point of being smoking hot. I also have to say that the cookware that I am using is a very high end grade of Teflon, so it could also depend on the quality of the pans.

Quote: I have spent a lot time pondering your point over the years. It never made sense to me. I also agree about your point about the doctors. I have often thought that if you don't know whats wrong with yourself, that most doctors won't know either. Over the years I have met a number of really bad doctors, but then I have also met some incredible doctor also. I currently have a very good doctor here in town.

OMG! I just saw all the quilts. I'm drooling and jealous. They are all so awesome.

I have lots of fabric that mom gave me. I should try and make a quilt. It won't be as good, but I figure if I keep it up, over time I might get good at making them.
I completely agree about the quilts. I love to piece quilt tops, but I am not crazy about the actual quilting part. I have been sending my quilt tops to a lady in Utah for long arm quilting. The most I paid for quilting was about 160.00 for a Queen/King size top. Most of the quilts are about 100.00 each for the quilting. I love her work, and I am saving at least 200 to 300 per quilt on the quilting.

I really love the batik fabrics, and I currently have one cut out and waiting to be sewn together. Now all I need to do is clear enough stuff out of the sewing room, so that I can think again in there. I have a lot of stuff that doesn't really belong in the room that I need to have out of there. Plus I need to organize the stuff on the cutting table, so that I can find the cutting mat again. Maybe after all the kitchen is done, I will be able to spend time in there again.
