My wife says we ALL must be a little STRANGE to spend as much time on here as we do, talking about chickens!!!! We are your newly found friends and real friends look right past faults that we might have. So don't worry, we are all going to have a great time. My wife has been telling me for 33 years that I'm strange!!

At least you just listen to your chickens talk to each other! I do ALL the talking when I'm with them, don't let them get a word in edge wise !!

I THINK MY CALIF. WHITE LAID HER FIRST EGG TODAY !!!! when I got home there were THREE white eggs , one real small one and one DOUBLE yoker! I only have Three girls that lay white ones!!

Well, I'm not saying I don't do plenty of talking myself.. just sometimes it's nice to hear who caught a bug and didn't share, or who pulled whose tailfeather out. Or how shiny my ring is and how much they want to eat it, and how they don't understand why the worms holding my shoes on don't taste good. Stuff like that.

For those interested in finding soy-free feed, Black Lake Organics (near Olympia) carries a layer pellet in 50 lb. bags. It's $24, I believe. Last time we were down there, I picked up a sample for my girls. They loved it. It's got alfalfa and fishmeal and I think it's 18 or 19% protein. I had a blast talking w/ the guy who runs the place. He's a character!

I know what they put in it, but hey I don't drink or smoke. I have to have one bad habit. Doctor says I'm in perfect Health. when he tells me to stop I will. Its the ONLY thing that tastes good to me. I drink a TON of water at work!

I do know what you mean. It is the only thing that quenches your thirst sometimes. I was taken off the bubbles a while back. As long as they don't tell me I can't have my coffee and iced tea, I did it. But it took a while.

And 'MOM' says: "As long as all of your chicken work is done first....."

Hi all!

I wanted to put this out there to see what kind of response we get. Since a few people have kind of come out from undercover:), I am wondering who thinks they would like to or are probably planning on coming to the Wa. BYC party in Feb. If the numbers are what I think they may be, we may have to find a public venue that can hold more people. So here it is:

WE ARE PLANNING A BYC PARTY FOR THOSE OF US HERE IN WASHINGTON, SO WE CAN MEET SOME FELLOW CHICKEN LOVERS. iT WILL BE SOMETIME IN FEBRUARY. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND PLEASE PM ME WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. THANK YOU!

those of you who are already on my list have recieved a PM from me, you don't have to reply.

UNLESS, you haven't responded to that PM. I will try to keep bumping this post to see what we get.

Thanks,
Kim

I would be interested in a meetup in February. I'll send you a PM Kim. And if I can help, don't hesitate to ask.

Should have lots of time since I think I need to quit working to keep up with this thread.

Imp/Russ- BTW I gave up TWI about a year ago. Before I figured out you could edit posts I was up one night worrying about getting into trouble with the mods over a slightly inappropriate joke I posted.

Guess that makes me a dork too.

OMG - y'all are my kinda crazy!!!

I am rolling on the ground tonight. I too will probably need to quit my job to keep up here. I gotta read multiple pages in the morning AND multiple pages in the evening. And I have to tell BF all about it. Of course there is much chicken talking here. When BF comes in from locking up up the chickies at night I always ask him what they had to say. We have even decided to try to get one of our chickens into our santa photos with the kids this year. Hopefully she won't try to eat santa - no goodies in their stockings then!!!
I do like me a good intoxication, but caffeine is my drug of choice. It took 4 shots of espresso to get me out of the house this morning and two more to get me back!! At any rate - I raise a pint, a diet coke and a mucho grande latte to all of you!

Oh - certainly interested in February shindig and will send PM.
