Happiness is - grocery shopping with no children

I remember when the 24hour grocery just got popular a couple decades ago.

Happiness is - grocery shopping with no children. Not yours, not the other shoppers either.

I love kids, but not in a store.

I have to say, mine are old enough now to not have to come with me, and they usually don't want to. But I do remember those days. Glad to now be out of them, but with that stage gone, comes others, and I think in some ways, just as challenging.

My one and only son is now 33. I have to say that I miss the little boy from most of the stages now. (Maybe not the 15yr old) But it is very nice having that part of my life done. I do wish he would bless me with a few grandchildren. We will just have to wait and see, I guess.

My favorite age is age 4-7. So smart and happy to learn. Just gaining independance and still somewhat interested in what adults have to say.

I work at a fred meyer, screaming kids drive me crazy!!!! I witnessed a lady pick up her kid who ran off cuz she would not buy him the toy he wanted and he hit her on her head. We could hear him scream all the way out of the store. I am going on 15 yrs of this and can't take it anymore. Someone help me find a chicken job please?

I'm going to Portland next Thursday (along I-90 to I-5) and can meet you along the way--prices are now very low--I don't want to keep these extras much longer!

1 Black Sumatra Laying Hen, from IDEAL Hatched in June. Vaccinated against Marek's. Should start laying soon. I just don't need 6 of these so I'm selling one to thin down my flock a little bit. They will lay off-white eggs and do lay all through the heat of the summer. $10

1 Mille Fleur cochin (project) bantam roosters (hatched in June) price reduced to $20 (he's the red one in my avatar) proven breeder, producing nicer than himself.

1 Mille Fleur cochin cockerel, unrelated to either of the above roosters $10

1 Black Crevecoeur cockerel. Hatched in June. Very friendly and extremely rare. $5

1 Pair of BLUE Buff Columbian Cochins (Standards) and project birds. VERY HUGE, friendly. Hatched last spring (2009). $75/pair FIRM will not split up

1 trio of Lemon Blue cochins (standards)--HUGE, fluffy, friendly birds. VERY rare. Do not breed true yet but these are a good start. Just over 1 year of age. The hens are laying and the rooster produced many exceptionally cute chicks this summer! $150 for the trio FIRM

1 Sebastopol Gander hatched in March. Very friendly and from Holderread's Waterfowl Farm in Oregon. Smooth breast good wings. Excellent breeder-quality bird. $75 OBO

I have photos of all of my sale birds, just e-mail me & ask!

I quit retail the day I told a lady we were out of B/S chicken breast because I was a communist.

I'm not nice enough to do that stuff anymore.

Today I had a chicken job. I had to put up a wall in my coop. As you can see, I had plenty of "help" with the project. They were not quiet about it either.

They would just not go away and let me work.

But, on the bright side, my 2 day egg total is 28 eggs! They might be a pain, but they are being good girls.

I told DH about the hens today just before he left Central California to come home. He only response was "Why didn't you tell me yesterday?" I told him that I had other things tell him yesterday. That was true. He got home about 4:00pm today just before dark and asked to see the new hens. He seemed to really like them.

I think I was having fun thinking I could sneak something past him.

But I know I can't keep anything from him. It must be because we will have been married almost 27 years now. And we still like each other.

I used to work at a in-store bank, and by two in the afternoon the all the little kids would start really screaming. They needed naps before they go anywhere. I had a number of years that I would not take the kids to store. They would act up or beg for stuff. I got real tried of that behavior. So I stopped it. I loved the kids teenage years. They where so much fun. I think that the homeschooling helped a lot with how pleasant they both were during their teenage years.

Oh well enough for now goodnight all.

Comments about Paint.................
With Parker Paint it is best to call if you aren't going to Redmond store.
Not sure if all stores they are giving it away for free.
Parker use to charge for mis tints.
Depending on the color ask about them changing it for you if needed.
Experienced workers can do that. Not all of them are tied to the computer software these days.

Ironimagery mentioned a place where you can go get left over paint, etc.
Snohomish County also has a place like that.
Don't have the link right now. Great way to find a bunch of different colors.

A warning though about the paint. If you plan on running it through a sprayer I'd just go buy new paint.
At the Snohomish place some of it they mix it together and some is real old.
I painted the outside of my sisters house with their paint and it was a disaster.
With double filter, thinning the paint, still ruined my sprayer.
Unfotunately didn't find out from her about the paint what they had done mixing her a color till hours later. LOL!
I would have gladly spent a $$$ on paint if I had known what they do with it.
She was trying to save money and had no idea. Just one of those things that happens.
I'm sure that was just a bad batch. If rolling it only you be OK but I will never run it through a sprayer again.
