You mean: I gonna need to shop for something other than my evening gown and tiara again! I just love those high heels. Oh Drat!

I have my coup locked up and the mean dog watching it.

P.S. Do they make orthopedic high heels?

Chicken Rustler,
No dark layers and my EE stopped laying about 3 months ago. But there is no security.

denniselk,
cute chicks!

Russ

Looks like I am going to have to wear my new spectacles. I was wondering why denniselk had posted those two pics of yogurt and nuts and berries in syrofoam take-out trays until I clicked on them. Now it makes sense.

I would love to see people come dressed in farm clothes for fun. So a Flannel or Hickory shirt and coveralls sound great to me. Maybe I should wear my rubber boots and wool hat since that seems to be the things I wear when I visit my chickens lately. Actually, I am looking forward to wearing the same comfortable clothes I put on everyday. With luck I might decide to actually wear all of the accompanying under clothes since it is a special occasion!

Well maybe. I am a member of the baby boomer free-love generation, so maybe not!

denniselk; Very cute babies. What kind of incubator do you have? I am still looking for one that works as well, as what yours looks like it did. It looks like you had a really good hatch ratio. I still keep getting 1 or 2 to hatch at a time.

Of course if I was willing to pay for a really good bator, I wouldn't have this problem.

I got the Little Giant bator off of craigslist, but I was never able to get it to heat warm enough to even try to attempt to hatch anything. It looked like it was fairly new, but if it doesn't work..... So I am sort of looking around for another bator. I don't really understand why I am doing that either. It's not like I need more chickens right now. It would be fun to incubate the meat birds this spring though. I just need to figure out if it really is cost effective. (Of course I know the answer to that; I just don't like the answer.)

Russ I promise not to wear the evening gown and tiara, just so you won't have to wear your spandex tux. Though the temptation is almost enough to go out and buy a gown and crown just to see you wear the tux.

It’s like "This is my brother Larry, and this is my other brother Larry". Actually all the boy hummingbirds are named Larry, and all the girls are named Fred. (Fredericka?) It keeps things fairly simple. I seem to have 3 hummingbirds that winter over near my house, and seem to rely on the 2 feeders I have. I was able to confirm that there are 3 hummingbirds, just a few days ago. There maybe more, but these are just the birds that hang around daily and cuss at me over the food in the feeders, and whether or not I am doing the yard work correctly. Between the dogs, cats and hummingbirds there is not very much that I am allowed to do unsupervised. (including the restroom) Then there are the summer hummingbirds that migrate. These birds often are different colors, than the year around hummingbirds. At least chickens really don't care how you do things unless you mess with their feed.

P.S. The animals seem to supervise the DH with nearly the same due diligence as they me, so maybe it's not that I am just a very forgetful person with ADD. I think the cat is going to tell on DH about him trimming up the Yorkie's hair. DH said that the kitten was watching him with that look in his eye that said that the cat was going to tell on him.

Don't know if she'll lay again. Was sold to me as a 1 yr old, last summer. I suspect that she's older, as her laying has always been very erratic. Hoping she'll lay again this summer.

As far as getting to the coop, just open the gate and walk in. Bring a net, they are not terribly friendly.

You won't need the doggie treats- the "Beware of dog signs are fake."

Russ- Am toying with the idea of getting a couple more next year. An EE and dark layer also. I'm thinking you rustle and I'll drive the getaway car. vroooooooooooom
