I'm looking to lease some land if you know anyone out my way...

I have fliers up at all the feed stores and an ad on craigslist, but so far no bites. I looked at a few acres yesterday and as much as I would like to make it work, I don't think it will. Water is a bit too limited on the property. I found that property from a flier at the Cenex.

TOTALY out of text:

Captain Phil Harris has passed.
I went to bed early and guess they announced it on Discovery last night after 9:30?
I knew he was a smoker, and lived in Granite falls and watched him on deadliest catch with the Cornila Marie,
Didn't see that coming?

Rainplace I hope things work out with out too much hassle. Not bragging but when I see the troubles some of you deal with to have chickens, ducks and other animals. I am so blessed to be out in the styx on 13 acres. It's kinda a twisted funny I bet where some you are people don't think much of a barcking dog but there better not be one little rooster crow. Where I am barking dogs can be a real problem and nobody hears the roosters, but I better not get started on that.

Yes I saw that Captain Harris passed away. That is very sad. Some times I have a hard time with Diane's condition due to the stroke but I also tell people that we are very lucky. It could be much worse.
Last night I put fresh batteries in my LED light and candled. Of the 8 silkie eggs 1 is a keeper and of the 6 from mike I think all 6. That one dark one is like next to impossible to see in.

Donna- Perhaps try putting up a flier for 'Pasture Lease wanted' instead of 'land lease wanted'. Also, if the laws changed last year, are the waterfowl that were there at the time grandfathered in?

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I am also very lucky to have a great and supportive husband. We have our (occasional) moments, but he is my saving grace. Without him sometimes I wonder if my sanity would be as intact.

Saw that this morning too. We have been watching for the past few years, and will miss him on the show. My heart goes out to his family.

Hey everyone!!!

When is the next show in Washington? I'd REALLY like to get into showing my birds and I have a few in mind I'd like to begin with....how do I get started? I'm an APA member already, does that help? Is there anyone who would be willing & able to help me get started? I know nothing of the process and sorry, I've never even WASHED a bird before! LOL I also have a trio & a pair of cochins I'd like to sell at a show, if that sort of thing is permissible?

Anyone?

Installed the new automatic door

So far so good. The folks at chickencoopdoor.com sent it when they said, and it arrived when it was supposed to. They answered my questions and responded to my email.

I am testing the timer right now to make sure it closes when I want it to. I will update with pictures if anyone is interested. I installed it pretty late, and the ladies were complaining loudly about not being able to get up to their roost. My BR decided to walk into the laundry room to hang out... maybe she wanted to roost in there? Who knows.
