If I take away her dinner plate, I would have to get rid of all the pots, pans and bowls. because she would just eat out of them.

I think she does half the time now

I think you are right about her loving her "shed". And if there is a liar in the place, I think it just might be you. You know you love having her there. She is without doubt, your partner in crime and farm hand at times. You are very lucky. Mine lives way up there by you all, and I miss him every single day!.

I see my son once or twice a week and he lives about seven miles away. I don't need to see Keri EVERY DAY (or the DW) just my dog and chickens

Whew! - the neighbor recently gave me her three WCB Polish cuz her quarters are too small and they were being mercilessly picked on. I'm getting two cute medium sized WHITE eggs a day (though my egg cartons now look like I'm cheating and putting in store boughts). And if I bring one she'll already have her party hat.

Wow, I haven't been on in a while. I keep losing track of time. I was LMAO reading most of the posts. But Rainplace...I am sorry you are going through that stuff right now. I hope the attorney can help you work it out and keep everything. I can't wait to meet those that are coming to the party. Sorry I have been mia, but some of my best friends from highschool are taking up a lot of my time lately. I lost touch with them because of my ex-husband and it has been a blessing having them back in my life. But here been a lot of catching up going on. Life is pretty good right now.

New coop door rocks!

Came home just a few minutes ago... and the birds are all snug in the coop. Even the BA is sleeping next to the new EE.

Next is to bring real power out to the shed. One part will be part shop, the other the coop.

Just a newbie sayin' howdy..I'm down here in Rochester, Wa and I'm so new, I don't even own a book on chickens, yet. No feathers, no birds, no chicks and no coop. That will all come eventually. I am taken back by the interest in chickens. I never had a clue about it b4. I thought it would be a good pasttime and hobby to have to raise about 10 birds and enjoy really fresh eggs. Imagine my suprise when I found all of this interest. Mikey

Mikeyb!

I said 10 when I started out too. Be careful, this is not only a hobby for most of us, but an addiction. At least it's not a hazardous to your health addiction though, unless your spouse disagrees.

Welcome aboard mike! The best book I can recommend you buy right away is "Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens" by Gail Damerow. It's a great place to start out, they know what they are talking about, and they explain it in terms that are easy to understand and interesting to boot.

Cheers, and Good Luck! Let us know if you need any help.

Howdy Mikey! Yup - chickens are remarkably addicting. We were going to have three hens... in less than a year we have 13. Now my BF, who thought the whole chicken thing was nuts, has breeds of chickens he wants!
