Would you be interesetd in hatching some eggs? I will be bringing some hatching eggs to the Monroe show next Saturday. I have blacks and they lay every day, haven't missed a day in over a month now.

Do you have any female sebbies for sale?

Okay, a quick post and then I'm off to adopt our second adult cat from our local WAIF shelter in two weeks. (and I squeezed in tooth surgery in between) Will catch up on the all the posts of past few weeks later this afternoon.

Kim, we finally got our first 'green' egg of the season. Have you had any luck yet.

Russ, the cranberry dessert was greeted with great enthusiasm and enjoyed for several days and there was a cry of dismay when it was finally all gone.

To the maker of the Corn Pudding - my husband says it was "Absolutely BRILLIANT" and that I need to get the recipe.

It was wonderful meeting everyone (hard to believe it was really two weeks ago) and hope we can do it again soon with more of the Southern bunch (I'll commute). Any way that we get to meet some of the Easterners at some point?

The hens and ducks have been a bit neglected in the wet weather and while we try to acclimate new cats with the old (never an easy task).

lost one little welsummer chick this morning

She was very lethargic when I went to check on them this morning. Just layed there and wouldn't get up. She just now passed. Poor little one... The rest seem to be doing alright, though. Guess she just failed to thrive.

I also have fertile eggs, probably mostly blues though one of my females is extremely speckled white. I haven't let anyone go broody cuz I'm not ready to deal with ducklings yet this season. Dave Holderread says that the Saxony hen should produce solid blues if the drake is blue (which he is).

Runners are so cool--I LOVE that splash?? female! Unfortunately, I've already got two pens of muscovies and a goose pen! I've been thinking about trying calls or maybe some silkies (ducks) again...I have a bantam duck pen that is still empty. I think that's a sin? LOL

Good luck at the auction. I hope you get your ducks. I want a runner duck, too. They're cute.

Yep, just a little after noon - it just came out of nowhere! Crazy weather.

I was off babysitting grandkids in Bothell yesterday and when I got home to the Island, I checked on the ducks their water and feed dishes were upended and strewn from one end of the pen to the other. It was bizarre. I started wondering if we'd had a mini tornado. The ducks and Silkies all seemed unaffected, but it was beyond me how it dishes ended up where they did. Okay, I really am off now to get the new cat.

I don't know who this kid is. But I'm placing this on here because it is this type of kid who has the initiative to post on Craigs for a job that I believe has something going for them.
If anyone in this area or area's near there could use some help my guess would be his work ethic be good.

I have done pet sitting before along with stall mucking. 425-788-0967

I have Polish, but no Roo so guess I'm not much help. Mine were given to me by a neighbor who's other chickens had pecked them almost bald. I put them in with my ducks and Silkie chickens for awhile, but one kept flying out and into the run with my big chickens. Since it seemed that the big hens weren't picking on her I left things that way and eventually moved one of the remaining two (that was in better condition) in as well. Everyone seems to be happily coexisting (and normally my two Barred Rocks can be pretty nasty). They lay lovely little medium sized white eggs which has been fun mixed in with my browns and greens.
