I am praying for your T Eggs... and what Beautiful Goats, I miss mine so bad. I know in time we will get some more. It was really funny when we had some, as it was a race between my husband & I to see who
wee.gif
would milk first! I reall miss the goats, but we need to build a proper shelter this time around, having goats in the house was not so fun!

Chicken Rustler: My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery, no one likes to be off thier feet especially with all the chickens, but can you imagine if you get worse and half to take even more time away from your chickens? Not good, so sit and knit?
wink.png
OR get on here and post away! Draw chicken coop plans and tractors etc..... Take care.

Toni- I love , just love:celebraten your babies! Any males & I get first Dibs, provided you do not want to keep them

Ohhh and you should have seen my ducklings today, They went Crazy for the Goat milk. I also gave my chicks goat milk as well they are in love with the stuff. I put both water and Goat milk and they drink all the goat milk down and beg for more. They even try to swim in the milk!

My geese even love it!

Well all of you take care and Many Blessings!

I second ALL of this. My husband refused to believe he had a broken ankle a few years ago (when he dropped a tree on it). Of course he didn't believe me when I told him he had to see a doctor and only reluctantly went when someone (with more 'credibility') insisted he go. They put him in a cast, which he managed to trash almost immediately so it had to come off. Then they put him in one of those removable blowup things with crutches and told him to STAY OFF IT. Well those crutches never left the closet and he managed to drive to work and walk to meetings. I think the only part he rather enjoyed was elevating it with ice and having me bring him 'refreshing' beverages.
gig.gif
It finally did heal though and every now and then he does things to try to break it again.

Weavegarden - I had a spell when I lost my joy. And boy can it be hard to get it back sometimes. But I'm hoping it will be sooner or later because I know we all miss you biting humor. NOT TO MENTION your helpful inputs! And I'm with those that are hoping you'll keep some of your flock. Yep, keep the noisiest hens - some of mine can really make a racket when they are celebrating having laid an egg.

Sheryl Butler in Bothell sells Marans, as well as other egg-laying breeds- nice started pullets. She also has some of the best exhibition quality silkies, cochins, and d'uccles. Her e-mail is
[email protected]

I second, third, and fourth this suggestion. She brought laying age pullets to the show in Stevenson,WA and they were gorgeous. I also saw her entire flock (including the cochins, white and buff silkies, white and buff showgirls, and frizzles) and they were great. She has very nice stock. I believe she was best of show a year or two ago with a white bantam cochin at a huge show in CA.

Not to mention she has got to be one of the most generous, lovely, ladies I have met in poultry thus far. After she found out my reserve of variety white cockerel was one of THREE nice white cockerels without any pullets or hens, she traded me/sold me two white laying age pullets.

Sheryl is a gem.

Thank You!! I emailed her and I hope to talk with her today

Chicken Rustler

Oh my gosh you need to be seen that is really bad.
sickbyc.gif
let us all know what happens.

Weave,
Your right all Chickens are special, the reason I have all that I do is the color or the eggs, I love looking in the fridg. and seeing all the color. Than I thought if I do get the dair going I can sell eggs and let others enjoy them also.

weavagarden
well you have HALF the story right. I gave Chicken Rustler all those brusies. Because he was trying to steal those defective WHITE eggs and replace them with some sick looking:sick
sickbyc.gif
bluish/ green egg
idunno.gif
Talk about inferoir looking eggs

rant.gif
I would NEVER eat GREEN (or blue) eggs or ham

Now that my poor Sheila (GSL) has gone to Chicken heaven
hit.gif
I now have four brown layers and four white layers.
I can pretty much count on my white girls to go 4/4 its the brown ones that are the slackers. My best is 52 eggs in seven days. If it wasn't for those brown girls I could probably get a perfect 56 for a week. But I do love my brown girls too

Oh by the way if keri says anything to you on Facebook, SHE IS LYING

Hi All;

Its been awhile since I posted. Hi To everyone.

Weavergarden I am so sorry about the court think. People are so nieve(sp?) about chickens. Then there are those who seem to have one goal in life and that is to try and destroy others happines. I know its a hardtime right now just know we all care and are here for you. I would keep as many of your girls as you can. Take care and let me know if there is anything I can do.

I am happy right now because I finally found someone local that raises Turkins(naked necks) I am picking up three tomorrow that are a month old. I cannot wait.

So I have a question. I purchased two leg horns from the feed store...however I do not think they are leg horns. They are white well kind of. One is white with tan colored checst and a little tan coloring around her eyes, other than that she is all white. THe other looks alot like she is a splash colored, can they be splash colored....also both of them have tufted checks like an easter egger. If anyone has leg horns do these sound like they are leghorns or maybe a mix.

Everyone enjoy the day. Hello to all the new people on this thread....It is a lot of fun here!!

It's like this Cindy: I was driving when the boys got into it about the egg color thing. I should have been watching
ep.gif
where we were going but with the ruckus going-on in the back of the station wagon I missed that big curve in the road just before Illa's house.
somad.gif
We were just planning a few stops along the way to pick-up some interesting samples for all the newbies in the group.
tongue2.gif
We were also planning to stop at your place for breakfast.
jumpy.gif
I told the boy's that you needed to do something to get your mind off your troubles. So I thought that putting you to work making breakfast for us would at least get something started, and maybe take your mind off the neighb@#$th (Oh that should have read neighbor lady)
rant.gif
for a bit. Of course I am sure that the party might have gotten out of hand
wee.gif
woot.gif
bun.gif
since I told the whole BYC group where the rave was going to be held at for the rest of the week.

So lest I get too distracted with the rest of the story. We missed the corner.
barnie.gif
I was traveling just under the speed of sound, or maybe that was the speed of trying to get a very l o n g ways around the State, with RonB and The Rustler in the back of the station wagon. I swear it’s a bit like driving under the influence of children, when I missed that corner.
he.gif
It turns out that we were all doing great after the multiple flips and a couple of spectacular explosions.
ya.gif
I just wish we had caught it all on tape. (That’s one of the problems with Illa living so far away from civilization. We are going to need a camera person next time.) We were doing fine until Illa and her family came to helps put the car back on its wheals.
hugs.gif
Everything was going great until The Rustler tried to rustle that poor little Yak. The Yak just didn’t want to go with us to Weave’s place for breakfast.
smack.gif
The Yak loves Illa and her family.
hugs.gif
So The Rustler is now recovering from his near death yak experience.
sickbyc.gif
I really am hoping that he hasn’t broken that leg or ankle.
hugs.gif
(Rob if there is anything we could help with let us know.)

So at the crack of dawn we slid him into the house real quite like so that Diane wouldn’t hurt us,
hide.gif
and we took off as quick as we could, there by missing the rave, and breakfast at Weave’s place.
hit.gif
We will have to plan the raid a little better next time, and maybe we’ll need some beer. (for the Yak)
gig.gif

So folks! Now you know the rest of the story. I think I have Yak envy sigh, or it could be too many white eggs when I was growing up.
lau.gif

P.S. Keri did a great job of riding shot gun. She’s great with the water pistol. She almost kept the boy’s inline that night. (Keri I will back you up, and I will believe your side of the story.)
idunno.gif

Any Volunteers for the Camera person position?

Just went out to check on my chicks... I'm so mad at myself and sad, crying. I found two of my babies dead. Apparently, they got in a space between a plastic bin and the wall and were smothered in there
sad.png
One was a dark brahma and the other a black cochin, both pullets, about 6 weeks old. I hadn't yet thought of names for those two, but they were still special... I don't have any other dark brahmas and only one other black cochin. I went ahead and made sure there's no dead end in that little tunnel anymore, so nobody can get stuck in there. I just feel like a bad chicken mommy right now and am missing my babies
