Big Big pot outside (I use the burner on the gas grill, make sure your grill will not tip from the weight of the pot)
Pot 3/4 full, heat to 160...hold dead bird by feet, lower into pot, hold in 4-5 minutes, check to see if feathers come free easily, pull birdie out, sit in a comfy lawn chair with a trash can betwix your knees, and pluck.
Too hot, and you cook the skin, a no no, too cold, and the feathers stay attached.
A turkey fry pot with it's gas burner works fantastic.
I line the garbage can with a plastic bag and wrap up the feathers after or they end up all over the yard.
Oh yeah, do not plan on going to the rest room nor scratching as you will indeed have feathery fingers !!!
