Follow the noise of the chickens.. lol!!

Tansy is a noxious poisonous weed, and it needs to be pulled on sight.

Its a plant with a yellow flower and it kills horses if they eat it. Our neighbors have it and its illigal to have growing on your property because its deadly. We beg our neighbors to pull it so it does not grow by our fence. I dont want the horses to get it. Google it. Its a long green stalk with lots of little yellow flowers.

Can I please ask for prayers/positive thoughts for our Golden Retriever, Kelby?

He wasn't feeling well last night, vomiting and whining, obviously uncomfortable. We took him to the vet early this afternoon when he was also lethargic this morning. They said his spleen is swollen, he was really dehydrated. They gave him an IV and kept him for the afternoon and were going to do Xrays. We have to call at 5:00 to see if he can come home tonight and if they know more. Could be an infection, could be he swallowed something. He's 9 and this came on so suddenly! We are all very worried. Thanks in advance.

Illia, I hope your goat is ok! Please post an update when you can. ((((Illia))))

ReiMiraa, hope YOU are feeling better soon! That surgery doesn't sound like a fun thing to recover from over your break. ((((ReiMiraa))))

Lots of prayers and positive thoughts for Kelby. Goldens are pretty special. It's so difficult when any of our anima can't tell us what's wrong. Keep us posted.

Long day for me, and it is only the morning. I hope I don't lose him.

That is a tough thing to go through - hope he pulls through Illia...

I am keeping my fingers crossed everything comes out alright for Kelby...just be prepared, because an enlarged spleen could warrant emergency surgery if it ruptures...happens alot, especially in goldens...you might want to google "enlarged canine spleen" so you know what you could be dealing with. Healing thoughts and prayers coming your way.

He's dead.

After my last post, he was going seriously downhill. . . He wouldn't even lift his head, but instead just laid there on his side, crying out occasionally, which went down to rarely, then not at all, and eventually started coughing up a lot of liquid. I'm sorry to say but it was terribly slow.

AND, after that, I found one of my "original" chickens, one of my three Brahmas, Cheesecake, is ALSO dead. Was found toppled over, already in rigor mortis, under the goat's bed. I did an autopsy on her and found nothing wrong but a lot of excess fluids in her body.

. . . Not exactly a "lively" day today.
