We've got sun here. I better get out and clean the coop before it starts again.

You are in trouble now CR! You can't make fun of the Seahawks! It's a rebuilding year.... but I have to admit they did get their butts kicked today. Oh yeah I forgot, IT'S NOT OVER YET! The pain and suffering is going to go on for a whole quarter more! That's probably why I am taking the time to catch up and post. Nothing better to do right now.
http://bestsmileys.com/crying/2.gif you are so correct !
It is getting so dark here that I suspect our rain is going to turn from monsoon to the extra ordinary Heavy Duty Wash cycle, to be followed by the spin...
All right pass interferance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our ball YIPPEE!!
Dont get too comfy in the sun... Its heading your way. Its sunny AND raining here. All my girls are huddled on my porch, looking in the sliding glass door, almost like they expect to be let inside. lol
Holy Cow!!! You guys are posting as fast as I can read the past posts!!!
I flew into Seattle lastnight.
Bumpy landing!!!!
I'm not so sure that I should have came home though. Dad is having a hard time staying down & is over doing things. Then he gets a horrible headache and collapses! My Mom's boss is coming into town on Wednesday so she isn't able to stay home and take care of him. UGH!!! I hope I don't regret buying a roundtrip ticket and not just a one way!!
Now I get to sit 2500 miles away and worry!
My quackers were very happy to see me this morning! They got peas & kale and played outside for hours! I think one of my boys might be getting/have an eye infection!
I might need Jbear to come over and take a look at it for me!! Plus I have the plant pots from JB for you!!
This has been a busy weekend in the planning department at my house!
Saturday we bought a security camera for our planned coop, $25(!!!!) at Harbor Freight this weekend only! It's color and has night vision and sound too! Oh, and it's weatherproof (not waterproof, totally different thing)! We also braved the warmer but still chilly weather to actually walk out to the shed, which we panned on being our coop, and measure things (remembered the tape measure this time!). We found out that yes, in deed, I was right about size, the shed is 10' long by 7.5' wide (I guessed 8'x10'). Also, measured two seperate spots while discussing 3 options for run placement, the third spot was just the whol back area. Came inside and I whiped the measurements into a rough model on Google SketchUp (I love this program), talked a little more about all the issues in the shed too. The shed is almost a total loss, we may end up tearing it down and building a new one this summer instead of fixing it. The roof of the lower half is completely soaked, meaning that the top half (storage is a goner), as well as the North facing wall (to the right of the door).
But, we decided an easier place to put the coop would be under our deck. Yes, it is connected to the house...but this puts the birds in a protected area of the property, we don't have to worry about building a top for the run, and we're moving both of our office spaces downstairs where the window that looks out under the deck is! This means I'll be able to see the girls all day long while I sit and read everything I can on here!
With not using the shed though, it means I now have to build a coop. A nice square one, since there's no need for a pitched roof, very rarely does any sort of weather get under our deck! Last year during all of the rain we had (ALL summer long...), the under deck area stayed completely dry! This also saves me a bit of money since I won;t have to retro fit things in.
Today we drove out to the Medical Lake/Cheney area and got 9-10 (I forget how many we got to fit) pallets for free! It was a 30 or so mile drive, but it was well worth it! On the way home we (I was driving so I deemed it a neccessary stop) stopped at the General Store. They have seed packets on sale 10 for $1! I picked up a couple of herbs (Dill & Chives), a few Veggies (Lima Beans, Yellow Crookneck Squash), and flowers (Marigold, Sunflower, Alyssum, Calendula, Sweet Peas, & Hollyhocks)! I really hope I didn't get something that can harm my chickens... I already have tomato and Basil seeds from last year (I bought those grow kits for kids that have seeds imbedded in the cardborad 4 for $1 late summer), but I don't have high hopes for them, I tried sprouting some of the Basil in December and never even got 1 sprout out of 2 containers.
Later today I'm going to go back to HF and get a prybar, maybe a box of nails or screws. This week I'm going to take apart the pallets and hopefully start building it in the garage. As long as it's shorter than I am, it'll fit under the deck.
Og, and I need a big hammer, all we have is a piddly one that I don't think will last too long in the building process. I love shopping for project oriented stuff!
