I really think this is a hen I would like. I am not really needing any more, but ya' never know, may want to expand the family. If ever you start raising them, ya' never know.

We are in Omak (remember)...East of the Mtns and it was beautiful here. nice and warm...but clear and cold tonight.

I was thinking of laying them long way, so the coop will be 8' long 4' wide, and 4' tall in the back, and 4' 4" tall in the front, to allow for a slanted roof... I also think I want to raise it up off the ground about 3 feet... I'm really trying to get this one right, as the one I built last summer just isnt working. Not enough ventilation, space, and its imposible to clean out. Was a nice concept coop for when the girls were little. I'm gonna hold onto it for a grow out coop. But thats all its good for.

I will check out your pallet coop! Thanks for pointing it out!

Yes I know you live on the BEST side of the state.
We really like our little RIR B hens. Even thought they don't lay big eggs they are pretty good size for the size of the bird. They are much calmer and friendlier than our full size RIR.

Oh, I'm glad your memory has not left you as of yet.....

Not that I am implying anything...but you had made the comment of where it was sunny, thought you were talking to me....just making sure.

Are your RIR banties...typical banty size eggs? I don't have a problem with that...just for our personal use.

My first coop here was a pallet coop, it was all I had and no transportation...no electricity..very little water, I used the pallets as a foundation, and of course I have since gone under it to "shore it up" as it will rot on the ground...the other absurd thing is it is NOT 4x4...the pallets I used are like 4 1/3 by 3 3/4 so alot of plywood got ruined. the entire came out to something like 3 wide by 2 pallets long at about 7 1/3 feet.
Stupid. Trying to save time, and now I have an odd ball that hopefully will not rot.
