The baby one is 11 gallons and the hold the quails best or chickens first week
The large one is twice the size.. so maybe 22-25 gallons? (no sticker on these any more)
I make sure the lid can snap lock so that it can't be bumped off.
The small holds about 10 chickens for a week or 50 quails for a week then they either go to the larger one or get divided by colors etc.. until they are not crowded.
The quails which I raise the most of are only inside for 3 weeks.
Then they go to the outside brooder for 2 weeks,
then a wire bottom grow out cage for 2 weeks
then to either the boys cage or the breeding cages.
They take 17 days to incubate and 6-8 weeks to start laying/breeding.
I normally only have my quails for 3 weeks since I have many local people who buy them as soon as I get them feathered at 3 weeks of age. So I mostly use the small totes and divide based on colors.
I have a few big ones for when I grow out chickens or a large batch of quails for freezer camp.
Heres a couple small totes with button quails growing up inside.
