does not help.. the plant likes to "walk" I have one plant that we keep tight rein on and it walks across my flower bed every year and we keep putting it back in it's corner every year....

I don't know the "kind" off hand...I just boiught the seed packet with a picture of pretty blue ones on it...lol. No worries, I'm sure I can find a home for them along with the packet of Sweet Pea (that I returned to the store and the guy put them back in my bag when I left). Maybe I'll just plant the eggplant there...but that won't hide chickens very well, lol.

We took the ferry home; that was soooo much easier! 3 streets, ferry, 3 more streets and I'm home! We lucked out with the timing, got on the ferry after no more than a 5 minute wait; very few cars were on it. I got the chicks in the brooder down in the basement near DD's harp. The dust is likely not so good for the harp, but now because the chicks are down there, DD is finally practicing! I took some photos, but the battery in the camera died, so it is charging before I can post them.

We stopped at the grange on the way home. Chatted with a nice man who donates the eggs from his birds to the food bank. I told DH, and now he wants to do the same; only I have way more people asking me for eggs than I have chickens to lay them!

I don't know how to grow or find grape seeds! But I love the idea! Most of my gardening is done in planters, that way I don't have to worry about where power lines and such are in the ground. That and we have horrible soil here.... This year is my biggest plan yet for a garden, I was supposed to get a greenhouse built, but the cost of materials was just too high for that endevour.

I'm still trying to figure out where i'm going to put sunflowers that grow 8-10' tall in my yard! Lol.

So, where does one get grape seeds/plants in Eastern WA anyway...?

Wine grapes are good as well as eating grapes... if push comes to shove and you can't find any at all I have one in my yard I can make a cutting from. Also grape is easy to make cuttings from if you know anyone with a good eating grape vine. just snip a stalk put rootone on it and stick in the dirt!

if you get good sun you might want to look into a hardy kiwi as well! if it has a lot of shade and water try oregon grape or salal again all are edible.

I have an aunt that has (or had, I haven't been to her house since she bought it from my great-uncle) grape vines, but she lives in Portland! So, it's a bit of a long drive for me, lol. I'll have to add a stop by the nursery to my list...it's on the way to Home Depot, so that's a plus, lol.

I too love the plants I can eat! I'm just not too great at getting them to grow, lol.
