Ok so my first day went great! Everything went smoothly, but I dont like the half arsed job the lady I am replacing does... She pulled me off the side, and said, "quik tip, dont clean the bathroom more than once a week." I was like WHAT!!!

Those bathrooms were disgusting! Especially the mens room...

And in a resteraunt too... Everything should be cleaned, not just the seat and floors...

Ok enough ickyness....

All in all it was a good morning. But I was beat when I got home. lol

YUP and our customers know how old or fresh thye are !!!!

I think I need to call & talk to a real estate agent or a Feng shui master.

Raintree said they can't help me.

My lot is water logged, over forested & northern exposed with a 60day growing season.
I think they are suggesting I move or buy my persimmons from the grocery store! They are tired of replacing my dead trees.

I must be on their apple sauce list.

PAW PAWS don't look very pretty. I saw them at rain tree. Maybe they taste good, but dunno.

I got some hardy kiwis. (replacements) I killed the first pair.

See all the trees at my yard will eventually drown when their tap roots reach the very high water table.
But the beauty of it ....if there is any, is that I never ever need to water my lawn. Its is always green (wet) haha

Cheap land. We were tired of being able to see five different yards from our kitchen window.

Hello Neighbor.

Looks like an orange tomato.
Inside is SOOOOOO Sweet.
droolin.gif

There are 2 kinds. The asian & the american.
The american ones are puckering.
sickbyc.gif

The Asian ones are the ones in the stores. The acorn shaped ones (hachiya) need to be ripened till they are soft to the touch. Like a very ripe kiwi. The flatter ones are ok to eat even when crunchy.
Usually the flat ones (FUYU & ISU) are available by the case at Costco around late fall.
We'll just have to get you one at the store when they come out.
OK, another date for my calender.

Having a high water table is common I think here in Western Washington. Just 2 doors down from me my friends backyard has water up to her lawn. I'm just 1-2 feet higher than her. And we are on a hill. Still trying to figure out how the water flows up the hill.

Speaking of waterlogged ground. Raspberries are very prone to root rot. They mostly need a very organic, well draining soil. When I planted mine I dug a large trench and filled it in with mostly compost. There are some varieties that are more resistant.

blueducklings,

When I first read your post, I thought you meant that Raintree refused to talk to you. I was going to take the blame. They might have stopped talking to customers after I called and asked: If I plant 3 types of raspberries close together will they cross pollinate and make mutant raspberries?

ETA- I usually get a lot of suckering off the raspberries in the spring. If anyone wants let me know. I'll not toss them in the yard waste. I have Prelude, Red Summit and Golden Summit.

Ey?
How big is your deck?
You'll need a big pot.
They can get quite wide.
My brother's "dwarf" got 5 foot wide & 5 foot tall.

Oh they are heavenly! imagine taking a tomato, combining it with a nectarine, and then add a pumpkiny finish. It's hard to explain the taste but it is my favorite fruit. They tend to do pretty well in western washington, at least the Fuji dwarf persimmon. The only problem is the window of time you have to eat them all. (not really a problem) when they're ripe you have about 2 weeks tops and they tend to ripen all at once. about 5 years of fruiting one tree will give you more than you can handle of course there is always persimmon jam!

That sounds interesting and good. Is this something I could grow in a large container? Like on the deck?
