OK boyz and girlyz here it is one last time upon "special request" by broodytood. Keep in mind this is a 6" dia which I am out of but do have 8"dia. This one is about 16" long. Also this one was requested cut at an angle I WILL NOT BE DOING THAT AGAIN!!! they will all be cut straight. I can make most any design you want for the "sail" (where the sun is on this one). Basically if I can get a pic or drawing I can resize and cut it. I also made the wall mount bracket that this one is hanging on. Keep in mind this stuff is all hand made so no 2 are eggsactally the same. I will warn that I do currently have a rather lengthy list of orders from MY BYC BUDDIES (who) ROCK. So If you are in a hurry (especially in this cold) I may be too slow. If you are in the area this one is hanging at Premium Quality Hay and Feed on HiWay 12.

Just this week she has decided she likes spinach salad, and has one every day, so there is hope for her yet!''I do force her to eat greens, takes her half an hour to eat 3T of peas or a couple broccoli spears, and she's gagging the entire time!

I too am a member of the clean plate club. I have the same kind of eating problems. I also make my kids try some of everything....or if I know it is something that is not their favorite...then I only give them a small amount. But if they pull the "I'm full" card....there is no seconds of something else or dessert....remember...you were full.

Heather: I will make arrangements for DH to come and get it or I will come down on a lunch break (mine are usually later). Thank you. I also wanted to talk to you about maybe hauling a couple of birds back for me from CL. DH and I are really trying to see if we can get over to the show, but I just don't know if I can make it happen...if we can't could you bring back a couple of birdies for me? You can PM me or email me or call me directly and we can make arrangements. thank you so much.

I like it, gone to make some of those for sure!
Thank you.
Mike

They work great. You put the lid on it. The birds cannot scratch it all out and make a mess and waste feed. I right now have 2 with 1 hole in each. 1 has the scratch (actually start n grow at this time) and the other has scratch in it. I will probably make at least one more so that I know that I have enough for everyone to get food. My food is kept in rubber tubs (with lock down lids) and then I scoop it into the bucket. Everything is nice and dry.

Humming birds are supposed to migrate but due to food being out year around they start to hang out here year round. I pull my feeders just before they are to migrate then put them back out for the lazy ones after all the migratory ones have left.

Rufous Hummingbirds usually arrive in March and is usually last seen in the fall, late August. Anna's are year-round residents. Calliope and Black-chinned occur in migration.

Black-chinned Hummingbird Migration
In spring Black-chinned Hummingbirds can be seen returning to Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona from mid-March through May. They reach Southern California by late March. It may be May before the species reaches the northwest states and British Columbia.

In fall they leave west-coast areas in mid-August and September. In Texas they are usually gone by mid-October. Most Black-chinned Hummingbirds winter in Mexico.

Rufous Hummingbird Migration --
In spring Rufous Hummingbirds migrate up the Pacific coast, passing through California from February to May. The birds reach British Columbia in early April and Alaska by mid-April. Birds arrive in Idaho and Montana around the end of April.

In the fall Rufous Hummingbirds are gone from Alaska by the end of August. They migrate through California in late June, July, and August. Many Rufous Hummingbirds pass through Colorado in late July and August. They pass through Arizona and New Mexico from mid-July to August. A number of fall migrants end up far east of the normal range. Some vagrant birds spend the winter at feeders in the east, especially at locations along the Gulf Coast.

Calliope Hummingbird Migration --
Breeds in western mountains as far north as central British Columbia. Spring migrants arrive in southern California in early March. Arrives in Oregon in early May. Birds may not arrive in Idaho and Montana until mid-or late May. Fall migration is early. Calliopes depart from Washington, British Columbia, and Idaho in late August. Migrating birds can be seen in Arizona and New Mexico.

How do such little birds maintain body heat throughout our cold winters.

Yes, supposed to spray on legs. I've never done it but it sounds like it works much easier than vaseline (which I have tried).

The prob is that the people who backyard breed care less to vaccinate the dam than to make money on her reproductions so she doesn't give the puppies the antibioties that are needed in her milk. Very sad. An innocent life is lost. Very sad to euthanize a wagging smiling puppy that wasn't given a chance.

So far all of our parvo pups have made it. They are put in isolation at the clinic...there are kinds of special rules for the isolation room to not spread the parvo to anywhere...change of clothes, spray the feet with Parvosol, only certain person allowed in...everything to eliminate contamination. The pups are on IV drips for as long as a week and shots twice a day that are painful. People have had to put out a lot of money to save their puppy when a $25 shot from a vet or whatever it cost at the feedstore would have prevented the whole entire horrible event.
