I'm back online!
a power surge yesterday took out our router and it took me till just now to find out what the problem was.
I'm sad to hear about CR, but so thankful he was not too proud or stubborn to ask his DD to drive him to the hospital to be checked out. Wish my dad would have 10 yrs ago...
I'm happy to see he is in good spirits and planning to bust out of there.
RFF - glad someone is taking care of the big kitty.
Everyone - Love all the incubator pics, but I am getting very jealous .... then I remembered I have a mini fridge in my garage...
CL - We hake 2 bikes in our garage that haven't been ridden in nearly a decade because I'm just a big chicken (I prefer bicycles - they don't usually go as fast). I couldn't sit behind someone on one of those and go around a corner without fearing my knee would be removed... DH has a great big touring BMW that he has taken to almost every continent (missing Antarctica and South America). Mine is a bit smaller, and I've never ridden it
DH's friend borrowed it and hit a deer in Oregon near Mt. Hood - thank God for leathers, though they did not help the deer any! I think we need to sell the bikes and maybe get some incubators or goats and a barn, or a vacation that involves airplanes and SCUBA gear. DH has not been as interested in his bike since he was riding across the 520 floating bridge in the R lane when a lady in a Lexes decided to switch into his lane, and the is no shoulder there. He had to step on the gas to try and avoid being hit, and ended up under the car in front of him.
I'm off to bed soon - very sore. Cleaned out the brooder, but the snow is too deep to go to walk to the compst pile,so I took the crud to the curb. The last 30' of our driveway was all black ice, I slipped and fell on my back, smacking my head on the asphalt and dumping the bag of chicken poop on me, then got up and fell again, this time forward, twisting my knee and ankle and smacking my elbow on the ground. I scooped up the contents of the bag, crawled the rest of the way to the curb on my hands and knees, then crawled back to where I can stand. Now my shoulders, hip, elbow and knee really hurt, my neck is stiff and my head and bum hurt a little. I know my extra padding are what kept my bum from getting too sore, but I'm wondering why my head is not as bad as I would have expected? Must be all that air...
Off to find some pain pills ...
(Oh, DD liked the GF bread we made, and her skin is already much improved!)
If anyone visits CR, send him my best wishes! We need him back here!
