Well personally, I think it is worth a shot with Prada... She has the worst rain scald I have personally seen. My equine vet Dr. hills says Im doing everything right. Ive followed his directions to a T, but it hasnt gotten any better over the winter. She has a couple quarter sized bald patches along her shoulders where her blanket sits, and those scabby feeling bumps all at the bottom of her main. So the hope now is that once drier weather sets in, we can get better control over it, and get rid of it all together. I hope I dont have to do a complete body clip on her.

But if it comes down to it, then thats what I will do.

I also need to go dig through all my blankets and see if I have the next size up from a 71" She's a BIG baby! She has almost out grown her second blanket since coming home to me. lol

If not I can dig through what I have....all of my horses are finally full-grown and my smallest wears a 76" so I might have a 72 or a 74" I could sell you....

I think it does....it's 62" tall...and I think short beds are 6 1/2 feet? If you could do that for me--I'll give you some test eggs when we get back?

Doesn't your new bator come this week?

I will bring some tie downs. I may have a couple of rubbermaid boxes in the back wrapped in tarps (great idea btw - This is RFF idea) if there is not enough room in the cab of the truck, but I think we should be able to set it on its side, etc. I would love some test eggs....yes the bator should be here on the 17th. Thank you so much. I of course would have just done because your a neighbor....but heck, I won't turn down some test eggs.

I like looking at pictures of horses

This is Prada right after I brought her home.

And this one was just a couple weeks ago. Her first experience with a saddle. She couldnt care less.

Oh no. Why is the inspector coming out tomorrow? Can't you make it look like you do not live there? HOW awuful. Nice looking trailer, but seems kinda spendy isn't it?

Well finally after 30 minutes I am caught up. So ye old bell factory has had to shut down today. I cant do any of it with out electricity. See we had a nasty squall blow through here about 4:30 and boom boom out go the lights. I am tellin ya that was the worst wind I have seen in a long time. Bout blew Da Fat Kid right outta his little welding shed. And headin to the house the rain was like gettin hit with a pressure washer. So I got the little generator going hooked up TV, satellite, lights, wireless router, DSL modem and charge cord for the lap top. Now looks like a may get to cook dinner in the travel trailer. But since we have no water I will probablly have to use one of my filter bottles and head to the mud puddles.

Well Im praying for some nicer weather. Once the weather is better blankets will be removed for the rest of the year. Teagan, our welsh is a fuzz ball, and doesnt need a blanket. Lacy and Prada on the other hand, are leaner horses, and didnt grow much hair at all. So Ive blanketed them all winter. Im hoping that I wont have toblanket prada until fall, that way she can grow some more, and I might not have to worry about changing sizes every 2 months. lol But then again... If I wind up having to shave her, Im probably going to want to at least keep a turn out sheet on her...

Why cant horses be as easy and uncomplicated like chickens. lol Granted yes I do know chickens can be complicated.

I have no idea what the active ingredient is in this shampoo or the spray. I have the spray sitting here next to me, so can tell you whats in it. The shampoo is out in the tack room.

deionized water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, cocamide dea, propylene glycol, triclosan, allantoin, mucopolysaccharides, polyquaternium-10, sodium pca, extracts of lavender, thyme, and clove, fragrance, and methylparaben...

So like I said, I have no clue what the "active" ingredient is.

Nor do I.
Well, try it, and start with just a tiny amount of the te tree oil, like in 1/2 gallon of shampoo, add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp tea tree solution.
Try it on a small part to make sure it does not irritate her sores.
I used it on my horses, even on saddle sores.
My Dad had this broad backed standard bred mare that we never could find a saddle to fit her, and she always ended up with a saddle sore, she was over 16' hands and round like a barrel..most saddles would just turn over on her LOL.
I hated that horse..anyway, the tea tree oil solution will take care of any fungal problem, on any animal, including ring worm or yeast.
It is a fanstatic douche, for humans and great washing teats on cattle & goats where they touch & can get a yeast infection..I love it, and my whores are moaning just fine dispite my immunal disease, this product though strong, is natural and I will take natural over chemicals anyday.
