Well personally, I think it is worth a shot with Prada... She has the worst rain scald I have personally seen. My equine vet Dr. hills says Im doing everything right. Ive followed his directions to a T, but it hasnt gotten any better over the winter. She has a couple quarter sized bald patches along her shoulders where her blanket sits, and those scabby feeling bumps all at the bottom of her main. So the hope now is that once drier weather sets in, we can get better control over it, and get rid of it all together. I hope I dont have to do a complete body clip on her.
But if it comes down to it, then thats what I will do.
I also need to go dig through all my blankets and see if I have the next size up from a 71" She's a BIG baby! She has almost out grown her second blanket since coming home to me. lol
Maybe you can try a neck blanket that attaches to the blanket. I've seen some without a hood. It has to have the rings though. Some blankets come with them attched.
I do have a blanket hood combo, but its for really cold temps. I doubt I will ever need to use it as we just dont get that cold here... Think Maby a sleezy would work, like the kind that just covers the shoulders, and part of the neck?
Ive got all sorts of blankets, sheets, hoods, ect... Its just finding one that will fit her. Seems like she is in between sizes at the moment.
