Ya, I know. I'm thinking I need something like that for my banty Cochin roos. That way I wouldn't need more pens to keep all my hens separated with their prospective roos. Just do hand breeding. The only problem is who lays what! wouldn't be able to keep track of the chicks and who the parents were. It will never end! I've added a few new projects this year just like I do every year dangit but really got to make some tough decisions. Putting up pens and building coops isn't the biggest issue really its the time it takes to do all the cleaning and care. Want to make sure I have the time to properly care for everyone. I tend to spread myself too thin sometimes.
I'm getting one of these: http://www.bassequipment.com/Cages/Chicken+Cages/default.aspx
The 3 tier one with the 3" deep litter trays. That will work good for broodies, too.
The price isn't too bad and they are really easy to clean.
Exactly what I have for my rabbits!
And the big ones I have I have put a big stick across for a roost, in one cage, and that is the TIME OUT CAGE for fighting cockerals and other meanies.
Or as a hospital cage for any bumble foot or other injuries.
