Snowing in Pulman, and meanwhile, in Lacey, I finally got sufficient clothing on to work outside and was buzzing along when the wind hauled around a couple of points and I was cooking.

April: not to be trusted.

Must be, I had a metal one..and was like a shoe box with a lid that opened....the birds made a heck of a mess out of it, and it was outrageously expensive.
Even a lip...if it has a hole bigger than their heads, they sweep feed out, messy birds.
I think the young ones are the messiest.

Yeah I am not sure...I suppose if they tried really really hard they could, but the lip is like 1.5" all around and I have never had any issues with it. Maybe the angle on the feeder you had was too sharp so the feed was all they way at the top. Then maybe when they moved the feed around with their head it would fly out...I am not sure, it's too bad it did not work for you, I really enjoy it, and it has solved a lot of problems for us.

Don't know, but none the less, the buckets are free, and have 6 doted around here, and they work.
So, that's all I can say~

I have a 6x12 dog kennel that I have put a metal roof on. If you look at my page BYC you can see the corner of the roof on the right. I can see if I have better pics if ya want.

i love the coop!it's great.

Well MOT and I have had yet the second kick boxing tournement, and once again I have won...the pen is strune with feathers and MOT has quite the bloody nose.
He has turned nasty mean at the sight of (I think) blue.
Blue jeans, blue shoes, blue shorts.
It started just as a tug on the jeans and now it has gotten to he gets this wild look in his eyes, and fluffs all up ready to fight my pants, and rushes, I push him aside but he keeps coming & coming & coming.
He must rush me 20 times before he gives up & walks away...
I am all out of breath!
So was he!!!
He has not done this to DH yet, and if he ever does he is dead.
He may be a dead rooster walking already...I do not like birds like that, we do have visitors and I am sick of walking around with a garbage can lid to use as a shield every time I have to go into the coop or run..to applesauce with that !!!
So, MOT may be a goner, and I will be glad of it.
Just wish the plucker was done getting built !!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine my surprise when a PULLET did this to me yesterday!!! She just came off being broody. I let her keep her lone chick for almost a week (I usually pull them MUCH earlier than that, but with the show and whatnot, didn't this time). I had just put her back in general population on Tuesday, and yesterday when I went out to collect eggs, etc, she kept running at me and pecking the jebezus out of my shoes, etc. I gave her a few flying lessons, and STILL had to slam the coop door in her face as she was coming at me again!! Can't wait to get Ilia's blue roo down here to teach her a thing or two!!!

Welcome from N. Kitsap!

When I'm building pretty much anything with a slanted roof. I go 1" rise per foot of roof width. So 4' wide roof, "from peak to eve" would be 4". I couldn't tell you what the angle would be, but thats what I go by. And it works well for our area.
