Uh oh. You're not talking about the manual thermometer on the Brinsea are you? I plugged my Brinsea octagon in this morning and haven't been able to get it under 100 degrees yet as I'm trying to just get it a smidge under. Now I'm wondering if I should have just left it where it was.

It was a mercury one but it came with my hovabator so maybe your lucky

I'm sure the brinsea will do just fine, I haven't heard a bad thing about those little bators.

What are ya goin to hatch?

I've got Salmon Faverolles, BCM's and a few BW Marans ready and waiting! I'm feeling like I should have gone to a childbirth type class before I decided to take on this task though. Feeling just a little unprepared - no matter how much reading I'd done before it's different when it's happening right now.

The factory setting for mine is set at just a hair below 100. I had a great hatch on my first go around. And I just set 30 more last night. I know this isnt much help, but it worked for me, so Im hoping it will wirk the secong time around.

You're welcome! I was more than happy to help. So Zgoatlady and I had a nice chat yesterday morning. She met me at the family wine shop and we visited for a good half hour before I was compelled to start working. We were talking about the possibility of having a "South Siders" meeting, much like the secret cult meetings up north. We realized we were standing in the perfect place for a meet-up. The wine shop, Vino Aquino, is located on 6th Avenue which runs straight through Tacoma and is just 3 minutes off of freeway exit. We close the shop to the public at 6 PM, so we could have the place to ourselves most any week night, Monday - Thursday, from maybe 6-8 PM. We could bring a little something to share if we wanted or not, and I just happen to know where the open wine is kept if we wanted to do a little sampling. We also have a coffee pot if we just wanted to stick to coffee or tea. We typically have Private Wine Tasting Parties reserved on Fridays and Saturday nights. Wine Club meetings or "Shiners" meetings are held once a month so we'd just have to plan ahead to make sure we didn't coincide with their meeting night.

Any and all would be welcome - just a nice place to meet when we wanted. We can comfortably hold 25 people. We have 2 table and chairs sets. Folks can mill around, whatever is comfortable.
And no charge. Does this sound do-able? Anyone interested?

sounds terrific -- will be there --- any night but Tuesday, when DH needs the car

Ok Ive got to rant... I just dont understand how my mother can still be in bed asleep! She said goodnight at 9PM last night. I just called her thinking that at almost 11AM she would be awake... NOPE! Come on lady! Get your butt out of bed and move around! We have today only to get ready for easter, as tomorrow is when we have everyone coming over...

I have 5 dozen eggs to boil, 3 dozen of those need to be colored, the rest needs to be prepped for potato salad and deviled eggs...

Im trying to do as much as possible to make it easier on my mother, but I do need SOME help! Im doing everything EXCEPT make the potato salad...

If my little DD were still alseep I could go over and grab my large stock pot, and the 5 dozen eggs... But she is WIDE awake and wreaking havoc on my house! No way can I leave her alone even for two minutes...

Oh well. All my critters are fed. The horses have been trimmed, Lacy has her front shoes on, the older chicks are back out in their part of the yard, Dinner has been cooking for 3 hours now, my house is clean. So now I just sit and wait for my mother to crawl out of bed...

Hopefully its soon.

I am out working on the coop & garden. If I miss anything...or if anyone needs stuff from me, please PM me.
SUN!! I need the sun...even if I'm all wrapped up in my goose down coat.
And no, I did not send Dinosaurs...platypusses maybe, curries, most definately.
T-Hi That was a great visit. Got to plan it around food next time. Love the new Avitar.
Also have another Shiney and 2 blue creams today. OMG 3 more...that is over the 20 mark now. DH is not counting....I am spreading them out all over the yard and house. Just not putting all of them together at the same time. Too obvious. 10 more coming.

Yeah, I thought the color was a bit off on those eggs. But I paid for them, and cant afford and wouldnt be able to make my DH understand throwing these out and purchasing more... So I will see what hatches, and hopefully they will be at least good enough for the freezer.

Oh... And I gotta figure out what to do with this one Wheaton Ameraucana cockeral. He's sweet as can be, quite pretty, and a brother to my pullets... I keep trying to explain to my husband why I wont breed him to the girls, and why I need to get a replacement. lol

Cowgirlgrace has 2 cockerals, one for you & I may get one, but not sure if I will at this point.
