I spotted a varied thrush in the back yard today too -- must be going to be spring soon, as they are migrating through ...

chicks seemed very interested in its song ...

they were jumping so high today, they almost popped the hatch in the run roof, open ! I need to figure out how to secure it so they can't

Dierdre-chick flew right up onto the hatch surround when I was putting the fresh feed down in the run --- she is SO SOFT -- so I just bumped her back in where she belonged ...

goofy Moonlight was trying to dust-bathe in WET soil today ... ignored the corner with the nice dry sand, dug into the damp soil in the other corner instead -- where Ginger had been digging after worms ... she's a whiz at that

spotted some more hardware cloth tossed down over the river embankment -- will go retrieve that though it will be interesting since blackberry sprouts have grown up through and around it ...

laid out the run today, looks like the chickens will get the interior 8 x 10-1/2 area ... with 18 inch wide flower boxes all around -- I was going to make it slightly bigger but that would close off a path that we all use ... and I'm not sure I have enough fence wire for that larger perimeter AND the overhead as well

now if I can salvage and take apart enough pallets to line the lower foot of the inner perimeter, it will be really nice for chicks (I would paint the pallet-surplus boards -- the ore troughs' paint on the lower bit is flaky -- don't want chicks pecking it)

when out of their comfort zone, they sort of freeze.. or have a nap attack.

They do better if there is more than one too--sometimes.

This is taking forever!!!!!

It has been 22 1/2 hours since I noticed the first pip!! The 1 has almost zipped all the way and a bunch of them have just made pip cracks. God is playing a cruel game with me!! He knows that patience is NOT one of my virtues!!

I did take a nap though. I was totally exhausted and couldn't keep my eyes open!

I told him this afternoon that driving him to and from work at odd hours, having to wake chloe up way earlier than is fair, is getting to me. I also told him that he needs to find out NOW when his first class is. He needs to at least be able to tell the judge when he is starting classes, if not have proof that he is taking them. he will have the interlock device put on his car within the week come hell or high water! Im just tired of it all. I did nothing wrong, and yet I am being punished also.

So yeah. its gonna end very soon

Wow. I feel your pain, sistah. Drove mine around for a SHORT while during treatment, etc, then showed him his thumb and hid my keys. It did not go well, but it was not a deal breaker in the end.

One of the reasons we moved away from Kitsap were the never-ending "emphasis patrols". Living in Indianola with the narrow tree covered lanes, I ALWAYS hugged the inside (fog-line). I grew up in the Southeast, and the Troopers taught us that was the safe thing to do on narrow lanes so I never heard of that being a 'cause for detainment' until I got stationed in Washington. Almost got clipped by patrol cars on MANY occasion as I headed home from work to Indianola just using my own lane while they rode the center. I had one kid in my unit who "crossed the lane too quickly" on I-5 in Bremerton and had to go thru so many hoops (no DUI!) just to keep DCS off of him, it was ludicrous!

ANYWAY! Do not mis-understand: I get how hard a policeman's job is, I wouldn't want their job for ANYthing, and I don't condone out of control driving, but I just don't get why Kitsap is so bent on some issues while drug manufacturing is rampant and there are so many more things that county could improve on...

SO! Back to your current situation (sorry for the digression!): I used to get trapped behind that little bus that picked up bicyclists, pedestrians, etc. as I was leaving Indianola every morning. Is it still running? Not an option for your DH? Or at least as far as the main drag where he could get a ride with someone else...?

Good Luck... It's a hard road, so just think of us as your shock absorbers...

you might be surprised... can you give it some sugar water in a syringe?

Her neck has no muscle tone and she will not open her beak. Her breathing is slowing down. I have her on shredded paper on a heating pad in a box with a towel over it hoping she could relax. Poor bird. I did not want to leave her out for a cat to get.

Okay, Okay......I am being a little sensetive! I cry at the drop of a hat lately and obviously can't tell when someone is giving me a hard time. With everything going on around my house it's an emotional rollercoaster everyday.I think I am just spent. And no Iam not PMSing or PG. I am sorry, I worried that Ron was upset with me, he didn't put in his usual smilies that tell me he is kidding, so I got worried. And Rob, I don't take my age seriously, you are only as old as you feel or behave! I just wanted to say Applesauce.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that cries at the drop of a hat! I think my kids have secretly purchased a straight jacket and are waiting for the right moment to pounce, hold me down and administer it!

My DH went a different route and took out a life insurance policy on me!

I think he's still weighing... raise 6 kids by my self or deal with perimenopausal psycho/emo wife!

The kids aren't that close to moving oout so I think I'm safe for a while!
