thank you for the numbers. I actually have something I could make into a coop....it is just doing it...

and getting DH to move this giant box that he made 10 years ago to house all his paintball supplies. The box weighs probably 300 lbs. It is approx 4x8, but only 4 ft high. Would make a great little reach-in type coop. We don't paintball any more.

Could you guys give me your oppinions on this feed box? Do any of you think this could be repurposed into a small coop? It's 6' x 3' the large side has a half hinged front, and a hinged roof, the other side has two swing out doors. The large side is 4' long, short side is 2'. Would this work for a small number of birds?

It is water tight when the roof is aligned properly, but at the moment it needs new hinges...

I will have to get a photo of my 6 headed chicken. Have to do it at night when everyone is under her. Those sex-links are gonna be big. I just don't see how she has enough space under all her feathers around her little body for these 5 giant chicks. It is hilarious.

Right now my LF have 8sf per bird in the coop and 29 sf per out in the run. My Bantams are a little crowded they only have 5.333 per in the coop and 76 out in the run. My RIR B will be a little more crowded they will only have 3.9 in the coop 10per covered and and 127 per bird in the run.
