i will get caught up later tonight.

I also have really cool pictures to show you.

We had a bear visit one of the bee hives last night and destroyed a few. the bee man came out today to fix it all and give us reinforced bee boxes... those bees were ticked off. he got stung twice. I was a lot closer earlier today to the hive (5 feet) and they didn't attack me.... they must recognize their owner and were ticked at him...
Still have a few more days of renting the bees for our higher elevation orchard then full bloom will have come and gone and then summer is officially on the way.

Also all is quiet in my incubator. I put them in lockdown last night 28/30 is not bad considering the 2 bad ones were just infertile. part of me is hoping some will start hatching a little early... otherwise target date is sunday/monday.
despite being on a pain killer high today i got alot of seed starts going. took many cuttings from my WSU geraniums. White and Salmon pink and one hot red.

I fear there is one sideaffect i was not able to advert from being on codine.... need to fix clogged internal plumbing issues tomorrow.
Also looks like i need to start irrigating the spots where my wisdom teeth were... some stitches are falling out and i see black pits in my mouth...

I am jealous of you Chickelady with your plants. I'll catch up to you soon.

There's a Ryobi suitcase set my cousin has and I want: three batteries, drill, orbital sander, trim saw, and a 1000watt equivalent LED work light. But what I really want is two power drills so I can keep a driver bit in one and use the other for drill bits*. I have to see how they feel in my hands, but my hired help (whose name is Heather, and whose mother was my doula when the elder spawn was born) swears by her Ryobi, too.

*I've tried one of those magnetic flip pilot drill/driver bits but they make little dinky pilot holes and I am often driving 3" deck screws into old railroad ties. And so called "power screw drivers" are the single most useless piece of equiptment I've ever used.

. I just REALLY didn't want to deal with roo drama my first year of 'chickering', AND he's a little thug at just over 6 weeks...

Know what ya mean about the phillips bit: I've driven more than one into an opposing digit

I've learned to LOVE star-drive screws and my little Makita set of drills. The hammer drill is really small and lightweight for getting those overhead screws that I just can't do like when I was, um, forty

. But it was a gift, and it's a spendy little set, (close to $300) so it depends on whatchur lookin for...

I spent the last two days building workbenches so I could organize my tiny shop so I could FIND my tools so I could start the coop I should have started a month ago...

fortunately, I had an unused dog run also, pieces parts of collapsed storage tents that I rigged as a roof for the run, and lots of scraps from building our little cabin so my tweens have lots of room to run and play every day...

I am a re-purposing son of a gun!!

Anyway, hope your finger gets better! Mine are going into hot epsoms here pretty soon!

Update on Michelle Today she got transfered to a rehab in Centralia. She sounds to be doing very good. But she is going to get pretty bored since they dont have wifi in there. At least she still has her cell so there is a little it of a life line .

would $0.21/lb be a good price on bulk layer mash? i finally found a place that uses local grains and sells bulk layer 18% protein mash. so i am thinking that $210 for 1000 pounds of feed is a good deal considering i go through 100 pounds of purina chicken chow every week at $15/50lb. and they free range.

I just need to mod one of our apple bins to seal the cracks and he will fill that. Anyone else in my area look up D and J grains in Malaga.

Nope...never see this fat lady dance...LOl.
Of course, you are correct, if they saw our dance...we would have to give classes. It would go viral on YouTube and then we would have to do presentations and shows and appearances. There would be world tours...ya' you are right. I just don't have time.

You are a sweety...but I have not been eating very healthy lately..lots of junk food. I know I would feel better if I would quit eating all the junk...so it is time to incorporate more fruit and veggies to munch and less junk.

Okay guys!!!
4312, Sadiesue, Chickielady, Zgoatlady (who am I forgetting!) Ya'll are driving me NUTS!
barnie.gif

I have NO room for an incubator, NO time for any more 'projects', NO experience hatching, NO coop
lol.png
but you's have me so enthralled with this process that I'm starting to do research before my first little batch of chickens EVER are even THINKING of laying!

I'm looking for the safety button on my keyboard that tells me, "Look away from the pictures! Just say NO!"

Great job, you's guys...
