I'm in Chehalis. Depending on the day, I might be able to help with some of the southern leg of his journey!
Where is he going to end up at?

I think Oroville? That's way north of Bellingham? I don't know where Oroville is and haven't looked it up yet. I could get it close to Seattle, where I think I'd be meeting with Hallerlake, but beyond that point I'm kind of lost. Who is farther north?

Oroville, is on the east side of the mountains, north of Omak. That makes it tricky. There are a lot fewer of us on that side of the mountains.

Was it very big? Is everyone OK?

Everybody is fine. The ones we get up here a so small compared to what you guys get. It ripped some metal roof off a shed and bent the door is all.

I watched a chilling Youtube video yesterday that some guy had shot while about 18 people, including children had holed up in a gas station convenience store. It was dark but you could hear what was happening. As the tornado got closer, and all the windows blew out, they all went and huddled in the storage cooler on top of each other as the tornado went right over them and demolished the building. There is a follow up video where he goes back to the location in daylight and shot what was left of the building and shows where they had been hiding and the small space they had left to climb out of. It was a miracle those people got out alive. It brings home how mortal we are and how lives can be changed in a few minutes time.

Here is the link, but I have to warn you, it is really frightening.

ETA: This was of course, the tornado in Joplin.

I'll make us some lunch (quiche or scrambled eggs?)

I just might have to come on over. I am more than willing to eat quiche too.

Don't count on it!!!!! We went and got feed the other day and Scott was trying to find them homes. He said they were so nice he really hated to see them go to camp so he was trying to rehome them.

That's sweet! Scott is a really nice guy, and they are really nice, friendly cockerals. We kept the alpha and the runt, the two with attitude problems!

Yes, it does. Perhaps the original poster would have better luck offering him in the auction section to find someone closer who would be willing to take him. I'd still be willing to get him north, but beyond you, I'm afraid we're stuck.

OK so I am not doubting you but just wonder ... HOW CAN THEY LABEL IT AS SUCH ???? I guess that probably goes with things like food that is labled "Gluten Free" but it is allowed to have a set small amount.

Or sugar free or ......

The active ingredient is iron phosphate, which is a naturally occurring ingredient. The attached article explains it in a lot more detail than I can. The interesting thing is that the dogs often present in the same state they do when exposed to the metaldehyde slug baits...they don't "look" like an iron toxicity.

I'm buying a rat-zapper, I don't want to hurt any other animals.

Has anyone here ever used one?

I'm planning on getting a couple of the traps I saw advertised on here, I can't remember what they're called but they stick their heads in & it puts a little band around their neck. Not quite as quick as I'd like, but worth it to protect mine and my neighbors animals.
Thete are rat and mouse sizes.

I do have him in the auction section and I have him on the Oregon section. I have him on Craigslist also. How far would you be willing to go Touch O' Lass? Are we looking to get him somewhere in the neighborhood of Wenatchee or farther north on 97?

My other option is to take him back to the shop where I got him. They have a guy that takes all of the chickens that turn out to be "he's" instead of "she's". I would just prefer to know he is going to a good home.

I just talked with my husband and we have decided to bring him back to the store we got him from because they only take them back on Sunday's. All I can do is pray he gets a good home with lots of lovely ladies to tend to.

Thank you everyone for your efforts!
