Oh, heavens....I live in cowboy/cattle country. Quit dreaming - the movies have glamorized cowboys way too much. Now if there were a Sam Elliot or Tom Selleck running around here I would tell you to come on over....but then again, I may not want to share.....

OK, OK maybe not only a cowboy but at least a country boy. One that doesn't rool his eyes and complain because I've wanted to have a farm/ranch my whole life. Thing is, he knew what I wanted from the day we met and I've stayed true to myself but feel guilty everyday for it. He on the other hand.......

I love Sam Elliot!

Wanted to apologize to all for getting the Castle stormed yesterday. I guess I might have used the P word but in my opinion it was all VF fault! LOL Stuff was really bugging me but there are other forums better suited to the subject. Problem is this is the only forum I've joined. Sorry, won't happen again.

yea I guess my opinion made them mad too! got a bit of a reprimand this am!!! Sorry, I'm with you CGG this is the only forum I subscribe to also, and as you can tell I'm pretty opinionated, one big reason why I don't watch the news and haven't for about 6 years!! Sorry if I offended anyone!!

Well, if you keep your luggage packed in public, people won't have to use the P word! Right?

uhhhh yep!!! lol!

So, after two weeks of no extra help, today I get Too Much Help, at least in the sense that I have my son and the Hired Hand coming at the same time, and I need to do two different things with them: not being able to be two places at once is so limiting.

No matter how I do the math, the logistics of the day work out to "nope, no work will be done on the Wyandotte Coop today" and I am Infinitely Displeased. I'll have help from Andrew starting next week, when my sister goes back to raking hay, but I'd really like to move on to the Hamburg Extension University instead of piffling away the hours on the few things I can do without somebody to hold the other end of the tape.

Complicating everything is a massive die-off of the best of the Grabbers. I do wonder what lives the people who design those things lead, that all they ever have to pick up off the floor is quarters (not dimes, not screws or washers or EVER socks and other sorts of textile entropy). Heaven forbid books, magazines or silverware. We had two that worked OK for some of that (none of them will lift, say, a blanket kicked off the bed in the middle of the night, or a pillow) but they're made out of thin molded polyurethane, and have broken at the point of greatest use: one at the index-finger part of the handle, the other at the load-lifting part of the head. I'm left with one that works really well, that is necessary to grab eggs and the water jar out of the chicken tractor, one that had half the grabber pads fall off that does duty with ABBA, and two in the house which through some flaw of design or manufacture actually reduce the force of the grasp and no longer really even pick up quarters.

I will have no quarters to pick up after I buy another of the chicken-tractor-use-only ones along with the other HD supplies today.

I think I just saw a flash of lightening, but way far off to the WSW...
Not hearing Thunder...are we in for T-storms again today ??

Kaneke, if I fill a bucket with 2 gallons of beer, DH would call the white coats on me.
he has a 6 pack of beer, and drinks 1 every day, and it is HIS!!!!!!!!
OFF limits.

I too, have recently 'lost' a very good, dedicated grabber.

Bummer.
Now I am left with one that works great (so far) and one that works great at grabbing but continues to fold up as the elbow lock no longer locks.
I am sending it to DH's Fort/laborotory for immediate repair.

And now off to do marketing/Post Office, etc...bye all!!!

I've figured out how to fix the one that is broken at the handle, but doing so will involve sitting down and whittling a reinforcing liner out of wood and then Gorilla Glueing it in quickly and without getting glue on the moving parts. Want to make bets on that working out well?

Meanwhile I'm leaning over too much, and have had the first episode of reflux in a year.
