Thank you CR I do feel better. It was scary the first night I was wondering if I had the flu or was sick becasue I was have a Heart Attack. I was told if you have flu symptons and then think your doomed ( which I did) that was a sign for women. So I scared myself so bad, I didnt and it wasnt but the Dr isnt sure what it was and why I was so sick. Im still a little loopy.
Oh I need to go take care of the kid I think he's running around upstairs.. Bad little boy

Hi, All.

Hope you had a good weekend! Mine went pretty well.

On Friday, the Baby's U/S was great! No more previa!!!! Just a low-lying placenta- woo hoo! I can try for a vaginal delivery. Yay! Baby's still a boy. His left kidney was improving but right kidney was worse.

They'll do another u/s at 32wk to see it again. He may have to have surgery after delivery if it's still the case. We'll just have to wait and see.

The OB appt was ok... Lost a couple pounds from 3wk ago but have been watching my carb intake. Been wearing my compression hose some- so my feet are nice and non-swollen at the end of the day. OB just stressed I wear them for the flights I'm taking soon.

Did the glu test- had the lemon-lime glucola. Don't know the results but the drink wasn't too bad.

Also, this weekend stopped at a couple maternity stores with DH, MiL, & FiL getting ready for the baby shower when I'm in my hometown on Sunday. Got a dress, a sweater, 4 nice shirts, and 2 tees. Turned out to be a good day- I hate shopping.

Today I've started training an extern for the next 5wks (at least when I'm here). If she's good, they'll hire her temp to cover my position while I'm on maternity leave. She seemed to pick things up quickly today so I have high hopes.

Do you still need to buy a diaper bag? I have been waiting THREE weeks for mine to come from Babies R Us--it came today and it's NOT what I ordered! barnie I paid $60 for it (w/o shipping) and I don't have time to send it back (and wait for another one to get here) before the baby gets here....

This is the one I wanted:

This is the one I got:

So if anyone is interested, let me know--I'd like to buy a different one ASAP.

Bummer on the incorrect bag delivery!
I do have one that is new, given to me that I can give you so you can get the one you want. It's blue with yellow circles around it?? I did order one during the Nordie's Anniv Sale- this one from PPB. I will return it if I get one from someone that was registered (I'd actually prefer the Ju Ju Be 'Be All' bag).

Let me know if you want one in the mean time while you get the one you want. I can send you a pic.

hey Illia -- could use your advice ... is this an unusual EE rooster ?

would you say Columbian genes? or dominant white ? or what ?

the teal feathering in his hackle and saddle feathers, and on his wing bows, don't show up as well in photos as in person; but there are definitely TEAL feathers not just black with metallic sheen

I hate to be the one to say it, but now I had one years ago that looked kind of like that one. He went away after he hurt one of my kids...

luckily so far this roo has been quite friendly and pleasant, to the hens, to me, to DH, and to the 11 year old girl next door

of course he is still young ... but he obviously considers me and DH to be the "alpha roos" ...

Well, another Monday, another lack of things getting done beyond grocery shopping and taking care of animals.

I am feeling pretty bummed- I thought we'd at least get the door end of the coop finished, but DH was unwell this morning, and didn't leave until 11 (working remotely until he was sure he'd be able to walk and sit at work) so my daughter didn't get back from driving him to work and running a couple of errands until lunch time. He was on his back on the concrete floor off and on last week, hooking up computers for people who moved into his building, and he has black bruises over some of the hardware in his spine. He has 36 screws in pairs and two long rods with four stabilizer things like turnbuckles from his second thoracic vertebrae to his pelvis, plus two fused lumbar vertebrae. I'll need to cut the lumber myself, 1X2s matching the existing framing to sandwich the hardware cloth in the middle, 1X4 to cover the gap in the back, and 1X6 to make a wall next to the door. Either that or just finish the insulation and paint on the north and west walls and jiggering some sort of rain gutter on the north, lower wall (shed roof slopes S to N; it'll have a greenhouse roof over it sloping in either the opposite direction or a gable roof, I haven't decided).

I have company-welcome, beloved company- coming on Saturday, and my daughter is going to the Gorge to meet up with her boyfriend's sister. Allegedly, I have hired help on Wednesday. Thursday I'm getting on the bus and going to the Thurston County Fair before the chicken barn is intolerably dusty. Friday is my husband's every-other Friday off and we need to get some company cleaning and shopping done. So the crucial chicken-coop construction is once again getting pushed to the back of the line.

Boo, hiss.
