wow very cool.

Afternoon peoples! Been rather busy round the farm, have not been able to get on to keep caught up, how is everyone holding up ?

About to put up the wire on the run attached to the chicken coop, do you think it would make a difference (if I am using hardware cloth on the bottom) and chicken wire on the upper half, which one goes on first ?

DW doesn't think we need a (top) covering of chicken wire over the run, anyone care to chime in, one way or the other ?

Hi from Grapeview!!!! I live in Grapeview,WA just an hour or so out of Shelton. I have two Americauna pullets, one Giant Blue Cochin pullet, four mixed breed hens, three RIR pullets, one GLW Pullet, one BEAUTIFUL Jersey Giant roo and two Silkie roo's that are in desperate need of a good home. I have some of my first home bred chicks on the way, I hope to make a hybrid that is ideal for going broody and becoming good mothers as well as doing well in their egg production. I have crossed my JG roo with my Americauna pullets and have a broody hen sitting on them, they should hatch anytime!

I will try to post pics if the hatch is successful.

You have birds of prey? Cover the run.

I completely and utterly agree. When I first got my chickens I was always worried about the family of hawks hanging around my house! I am so glad that we decided to cover the yard. I recommend it!

T HI and Kaneke just left after delivering the 3 new hens from Brenn*** and some sheets of stainless that T had and the old air compressor Kaneke. We also finally got to meet T HI's bowling pin quacker. Now I am here to tell ya that thing will just quack ya up.
And SHHHHH Don't tell but I think I have almost got T convinced to get some CHICKENS. But not just CHICKENS BANTAM RHODE ISLAND CHICKENS

It was pretty cool as Daffy seemed to like DW which made DW happy.

along with a thousand or so chickens. They are everywhere...not caged!

good thing they don't like the beach. LOL. I hear the folks here don't even want to eat them, and they are full of yucky parasites that give folks a rash if you handle them yuck.

Catching up...still catching up....
