Those are Coots, what we upland game hunters call "mack macks" and they have lime green feets...and the toes are webbed individually, and fold back & forth as they swim, very cool.
Next time try to get a shot of their feet, you will laugh!
Great pics & thanks for sharing!!!!!!!

Good Morning!!!!

OMGoodness, how scary for all of you! I am so glad you are on the mend and that you have Audrey with you. And glad you have fil at home caring for your animals, so you don't have to worry about them. You will be in my prayers for complete and fast recovery, so you and Audrey can get home very soon. God Bless

what a great story!
I had almost the same thing occur twice now.
Once A day ago when DH was home we were standing in the driveway and he snapped his head around and said "DID YOU HEAR THAT ?? A GIANT DEEP ROAR????"
I said no, I was busy with the birds....
Then today (and he is gone) I was just out in the yard & and saw a tan thing pop it's head & shoulders up in the tall tan grass, then disapear.
It had short rounded ears, head smaller than shoulders, was lightening fast.
Then ALL the birds, even the cock pheasant, went off in an alarm of biblical proportions, and the dog wimpered & hackle raised, went into his dog house.
The din of alarm went on & on...I decided something must be circumventing my coops & pens, but did not see anything.
Then I heard the roar...and that is no raccon !!!
I believe I have a Mt Lion.
So..........we stay in after dark !

Ok, THAT'S scary!!

No kidding! CL, it's my turn to worry about YOU.

Pulled up 4 cucumber plants that were about done, planted 5 more, and in pots, 9 more.
Picked all the cucumbers remaining & have a sinkful of vegies sweating (sweating takes 2-3 hrs) and then in jars they go, pour over the boiling hot "brine" seal & water bath for 5 minutes...that will be the last batch of B&B's until the new plants produce.
So............now, chores done, I can finally finish this painting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be fine guys...and I will be bringing Jack inside tonight as well.
He hates being indoors.
He likes to play all night.
And it is too hot indoors for the furry pup.
But a hungry cat could sneak up & have him for din din....soo, inside he will stay.
Seriously, I know it is out there, so I can deal with 'it'.
I will be fine, just having a hard time carrying around this 9mm in my pocket.
It is so heavy, my shorts fall down.
Need spenders

Toni::: Is RFF's demise the same as what the twins had ?
