RFF's bantam pullet reminds me- my first-cousin-once-removed who is probably taking Bjorn (the BLRW cockerel that came from Tiff; the other one went to a friend I've known since the 60s) lost four of his six original chicks to an owl. He has a secure coop almost finished now, but no money to replace his pullets: anyone who has surplus pullets for free or cheap, please let me know. It is entirely possible that I'm underwriting a flock for him so I can have to fun of a mixed group without actually housing any more kinds of chickens beyond the two I've got and the still in-planning Perfect Ornamental Bantams. However, it really needs to be LF to go with Bjorn, and I really am eager for Bjorn to go live elsewhere.

(And, OK, yes, very chickenish family: me and my cousin up the hill, my second cousin the 4H chicken whisperer, and my first-cousin-once-removed).

Look at all that hair...that is just crazy. She is gorgeous. Do you scrap book...it is yet another addiction I have (chickens being one). Heather...what has been found out about her heart condition that the doctors were so concerned about? She looks healthy and happy to me. They grow fast don't they?

She's going in on the 6th of September for an echo-cardiogram. She had one when I was pregnant with her which looked normal but they are going to do another one just to check.

that is fantastic...so happy to hear that she is happy, healthy and growing baby. BTW Heather, she is gorgeous.

She is beautiful... Congrats.

Hi guys!

We have been sooooooooooo busy I haven't been on here in ages! We had a very successful fair and that wrapped up on Monday night. DH took the girls camping this morning, so spent yesterday playing catch up around the house and helping them pack. Then we found out last night that they are ready to start pressure washing our house tomorrow or Friday! (We are getting it painted). Wasn't expecting it so soon so I spent all day clearing off the decks, cutting back plants and building a couple of temp pens because we have to empty all my teenager pens under the deck temporarily. I am POOPED! I did run over to Evergreen Fair and quickly checked out the Open Class show and picked up some take out on the way home as a treat for myself. Saw some gorgeous white Wyandotte bantam hens, I think they were Dan Jerome's?

Then next week the girls start school Tuesday and my Dad is flying in for 2 days, then Saturday my aunt & uncle are flying in and spending that night and Sunday with us, so I have got to get the house in order on the INSIDE too! ACK! I am ready for a vacation!!!!

I know I've probably missed some news, but I have been skimming when I have a chance.

Cheryl - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! So exciting!!!

Heather - That baby is GORGEOUS!!!!!

Robin - Congrats on all your ribbons at fair!!!

Lavender bantam Cochins............I thought I saw a post many many pages back and somebody was looking for these? I am working on this project and will probably have chicks in the spring if all goes according to plan, so keep me in mind!

Going to bed early, I couldn't sleep last night and ran myself ragged today. Luckily the painter hasn't called yet, so I'm thinking they aren't starting until Friday, which allows me to have a veg day tomorrow.
