My son is the one in the yellow shirt (always has to be different). He is 16. He (and the other 5 Omak kids shown in the photo) participated in the Meridian Lake triathlon. they did fantastic. My DS had a mountain bike (very heavy) but that is what he had. He placed 23rd out of 58....he feels he would have done better if he had had a lighter bike. So if he decides to continue doing this we will look for a road bike for him. Starting from right and going left....The first boy got 8/58 and was in the top few in the running (I think he got second in the running)...The girl was 16/58...the next boy (her brother) was 6/58 and placed in the top few in the bicycling. My DS was second out of the water ....all of them entered in the "Super Sprint"....500 meter swim, 3.1 mile run and 15 mile bike ride. They said the people were wonderful and supportive and encouraging. We are all so proud of them.

The other two kids (boy and girl on either side of my DS) also placed in the top 30....I just don't remember where....they all need to be proud of themselves.

DS#2 and I used to do short course triathlons ... he insisted on using HIS bike which was a ONE speed ... but he still did quite well in his age group, think he usually finished in top ten ... I just finished which was great, though not many in my group so I often got some sort of prize

probably the most amusing time was doing the swim in a lake when there had been a big windstorm the day before; the lake was FULL of leaves, and it was like trying to swim through ivy ..... out north of Black Diamond ...

Hi, I am at Lake Tapps. There seems to be a bunch of us out here. Once I get my kids back in school, I'd love to meet. Son starts next week, but daughter doesn't start until the 12th. Then I will finally have a little time to myself, I hope! It would be fun to meet up. Maybe some of our bus drivers could meet up with us between runs. We could have some great chicken chat!

The health inspector has me trained good. If in doubt, toss it out.

Ive never seen mold in canned food, but lots in kalamata olives and dried dates.

to get mold out of washing machine .. run a load of dirty clothes with usual detergent PLUS add half a cup of PineSol or equivalent generic

that PineSol solution will also take care of that funny smell that happens when you mistakenly leave washed clothes in the machine for a couple of days --- both in the machine and in the clothes/linens

for serious mold problems, follow that up by adding a full bottle of white vinegar (and the smallest amount of water you can get it to run on) ... that will scavenge most any mineral deposits that are gumming up the pipes

Great!
I will try that today. Thanks

- you need to leave the door open after you run a load. Most front-loading machines have this issue. (I have the Whirlpool Duet). My sister has the has the LG. She told me to leave the door open (and it states to do that in their ownders manual, but not in the Whirlpool one). My sister loved her LG, hers is quite a bit newer than mine (mine is 9 years old), so technology has changed a bit, but then hers caught on fire one day when she ran to the store after she put a load in. Thankfully the fire was limited to the machine, and other than an acrid stench throughout the house and smoke stains in the laundry room, it did not do much damage to the house.

I line-dry when I can.

I do leave the door open...am thinking of puttig a fan in there even.

Illia: I tell you what.....You are amazing. I want to gleen all the info off of you I can. That chick is only hours old and you already know what it is. Want me to tell you what I see? A cute fuzzy chick that looks like a chipmunk. That is far as my knowledge goes. Don't have a clue what you are seeing or how you are seeing it. I can understand the "rumpless"...(maybe)
hu.gif
but the "duck wing"....how are you seeing this? What does this mean? Sorry for my illiteracy...I am still absorbing all this information (Like a sponge)

I love chipmunks...

We live on the north end of the Lake. Sounds like fun! Let me know when.

I leave the door open on mine all the time - always have (when it's not running) and also the little drawer you put detergent, etc. in. It still is smelly and makes the clothes smelly, too. I did read to run a load of just water with bleach. Need to try that. I looked at the price of the front loader destinker stuff yesterday at Top Foods and it was really expensive. Definitely will check WalMart when I am near one. It's definitely a front loader feature I didn't know about and am not happy with.

They have a design flaw that is health hazardous. They need to fix this problem, give away the tablets for free, quit selling the machine or recall the junk.
