I am so sorry you are dealing with this too. We love them, but wow...We have friends who spent $20,000 on their dog. Heart surgery at WSU and it still died a year later. And they really couldn't afford it. Now the owner has leukemia, and they are in financial trouble.
It is so hard to know when to say "enough". I hope they can figure out how to make your baby better. How old is he?
Yeah, I just got a phone call and they told me that I should meet with an internist who will look at all that has been done so far, and tell me what we should do next. Ultra sound $370, but. Not very diagnostic in this situation, or a CT, which will cost around $1100. And I found out that they didn't do a full blood work up. I am so upset, and feel so helpless.
ETA- We haven't even started to treat him yet for whatever IS wrong!
we are dealing with a similar issue, DS's dog has been having cluster seizures for a couple of years now
he'll be fine for a couple of weeks, then have full grand mal seizures, two to six within a day, then he will appear to be fine until the next session
medication has not controlled them ... keeping him VERY active, chasing a ball, seems to help
he's had a full vet work-up and they couldn't pinpoint what was wrong (DS handled it so I don't have full info, just what he told us)
it isn't his kidneys, much different from what you report; this appears to be purely neurological (though yes, he does lose control of bladder during the seizures)
so all we can offer is hugs ... I've had issues in the past with neutered Siamese and urinary blockages, so I know how heartbreaking it can all be ...
