Exactly. The trick is going to be culling cute, little chicks I don't want to spend time and money on. According to the chicken calculator it doesn't make sense to breed the Spitz/Brabanter cockerels, only the pullets.

No, he didn't meet a bad end. That photo was taken just a few days ago. He ended up being such a beautiful and huge hunk that I'm keeping him.

He's actually bigger than both his parents. Very broad too.

Yep, the posture and tail credit both go to daddy. (Polish) The beautiful color credit goes to both but mainly daddy (Tolbunt, but because mottling is recessive, he's a Gold Laced) The broad body and large size go to mommy (Marans) And the comb and feathered legs go to mommy.

That's good. I'm about 10% short of making it through the rest of today's tasks at the moment. And I should definitely bought a new box of tissues this past weekend!
