I know there are quite a few enablers on here...I think that is how I became one.

I think I distincly remeber talking you into getting an incubator (was that you ??

And now you have morphed into enabling others, it is like a syndrome....

Oh, yes that would be me. Just butchered 6 cockerels today (from the last batch) and going to go and candle eggs to see what we got going now. DD and I have so much fun with this.

I don't want to be riding this boat by myself...so I guess the chicken math enabling is something fun to pass on.

Jen: Close your eyes....think of the incubator rocking slowly back and forth....a gentle 99.5 degrees on those tiny little serama eggs...back and forth...back and forth. Eggs candled in 8 days....back and forth...nice and warm....Now go put the eggs in and open your eyes......

Well. . . . Doesn't look like I'll be typing very much for the next week or so.

Our female Mastiff decided to bite my hand, sink her teeth into my finger, down to the bone, and expose plenty of fatty flesh (she jumped up to take my hand, tearing the finger downward) while I was feeding her some chicken (the blood on my hand excited her, and she has no manners) So, my right hand is all bandaged up and just typing this is taking forever.

We're officially selling the two, sadly. They've unintentionally bitten our hands several times before during feeding, the female isn't getting any more respectful or smart about what she does, and the male isn't getting any more lovey/sweet. The breed in general isn't as we had hoped.

They're not aggressive, no, just not gentle about feeding/treats/etc, and not as bright or personable as we'd hoped. Maybe it was the trip or puppyhood from Africa, maybe its something else, not sure. . .

Okay, so we candeled.
All 6 seramas are coming along great.
And of the 14 orps.....1 was not fertile...1 looks questionable....but everyone else is kicking and looking great. The one questionable one may have/be ring of death...I wrote ROD? on it with a pencil. I am still learning to know what I am looking at. But the other 12 all look great. I am excited for them to hatch.

Went out across the bridge with friends today. Our friend Jay has recently been given the supervisor position at the Tacoma airport across the bridge, another airport and ferries. Not sure what his exact title is, but we had lunch at Reflections, the restaurant right next to the runway and it was a wonderful meal! I highly recommend it if you're in that neighborhood. Pretty cool especially if any of those small planes are taking off or landing. He then took us on a little tour down the runway by car and showed us a few interesting things down the road, like a view of the Narrows I have never seen.

Then we took a field trip to what was Strohs feed and is now called what - Wilco? Some "w" name. There is a 50% off sale off merchandise from the old Stroh's if anyone in that area would like to stop in and take a look. Anyway, bought some chicken stuff I needed, maybe an item or two I didn't need but it's a pretty nice store.

I like field trips.

Ah jeez Illia. So sorry to hear that. Hope you find the right home for those two. Sounds like they're a handful that need special care. Not for an inexperienced owner for sure. They'd be too much for me. Sometimes my 4 year old Golden is too much for me.

Good luck with that adorable Great Dane - I hope she turns out to be what you're hoping for!

We've had experience with Dogos, Cane Corsos, lotsa Pitbulls, we bred and showed Akitas, had a couple Bulldogs, - no problems - But the female Boerboel we have, though is the family fav of the pair, I really don't see much in, but I'll admit, she's much more of a love than the male. When she's not being fed.

Now, Danes, never been disappointed. They're like Pitbulls. Although yes there are some scarred Pits out there, the good ones are unbeatable!! We've got a girl right now who loves people so much that her excitement can scare some. She's just so wiggly and LOVES meeting new people!
