I am seriously considering going back to school and getting my master's in elementary education. My DH is doing an 18-month program for his MBA and I'm thinking I'll get my master's after he does....he'll get a $6k per year raise as soon as he's done.

The elementary school here is losing five teachers in the next six years to retirement. If I chose that path, it would mean a $15-$20k per year raise from what I'm earning now, the same health/dental/vision benefits, PLUS all of that time off to be with my family.

PLUS, I'd be done with work around 2:30 every day....I'm very tempted....

Thank you! My DH was like--you would read, color, teach them about the Pilgrims, get $54k to start....work from 7:30 (kids don't come until 8am) until 2:30, get all holidays & weekends off....Christmas vacation, spring break, all summer....and still get paid. Basically, working 180 days a year.

Oh, and sorry to those who I offended. I might not have been as couth as I might have, but I'm coming off of almost two weeks of sleep deprivation to keep my grades up, perform as my patients deserve in clinical, and get ready for and participate in the show, come home unpack and care for the birds and still get up for a very early clinical day.

If I offended you, I'm sorry. I do, however, encourage you to show. You might be shocked how well you do.

My girl is at the age where she is getting snarky. She wnet to a birthday slumber party with a bunch of girls this past weekend, then they all went to a salon in Bellevue Square and had rooster feathers put in their hair. I can't understand why she'd pay $ for that when she can just pick them up in the yard.
