Hey Toni I tried calling you to day. I even left a voice mail. I don't do that for just anyone.

I think the ones you are talking about are JBear's butterscotch calls which are kind of unusual. Super pretty ducks!

Cinnamon Indian Runner ducks are a bit hard to find also. Blueducklings special ordered some from Holderread's Farm. Beautiful!

I'm a bit more in love with the black and blue and chocolate runners!!

The middle man is sounding like a very necessary in this deal. I didn't ever think I would say that kind of thing.

I got your voicemail. I have been napping on and off all day. A little bit Nyquil induced! I will give ya a call tomorrow evening when I get off work!

I would try Kevin Noorlander. He will be at the Chehalis show I am certain. I have appleyards and they are good weight and good layers, but not the best exhibition ducks, and from what I remember about your posts you like birds that can show and produce. Noorlander has good saxonies, and I can attest to their deliciousness. I will say they took longer to get to weight than appleyards, but are better exhibition birds. Depends on what is your priority.

Haven't had to deal with it much YET with the chickens but when we had the goats kidding season was always exciting and any loss was always hard. I to always said it never gets any easier to lose them. There may even be rumor of a (pre) masked man doing mouth to snout on new borns.

So maybe this is the real reason for the mask.

Yeah! You guys don't want to make CR mad- he will loom at you and puff out his chest and gobble. Let's put Stevenson to bed and start on Crossroads. 10,250 birds entered!!!! Can't wait!

Thank god you came along! I didn't mean to come across as harshly as apparently I did. My point was what you have put much more gently, there are many exhibitors that are older and those of us who are younger aren't seeing as many get into the hobby that stay in it. There are a bunch of people I've seen at one or two shows and haven't seen since, and we've lost some exhibitors that we thought were in it for good for one reason or another (witness recent loss of Brian Roblin as an exhibitor for misc reasons, the reduction of the number of shows I've seen Mr. Albritton at, etc etc).

It's very sad.

It's so rewarding! So fun! Even when you don't win a darn thing, there is so much that can be learned. I got so much good information this weekend from Mr. Konecny and Mr. Overton and I'm hoping I can do the knowledge justice.

Speaking of geese, don't you have a toulouse? What gender is it? If I get a decent hatch this spring you interested in raising them too??

I have been trying to encourage more people to show geese. The gal that showed the production embdens is interested in really showing,.. hope I get a good hatch this spring so I can get her some birds. I met some new people this weekend. I heard Mr.Overton talking about your buff laced- if only those stubs had been yanked he said they would have been quite competitive. I am assuming those are yours? What are you taking to Crossroads?

I don't think I'll be showing them.

I'm mainly looking for a good dual purpose duck, but most importantly one with good weight/meat on the bones.
