mmm--- if you are shooting black powder (muzzleloaders) and it is muzzleloader season and a location approved for that ... you can wear camo
[ditto for bowhunting (archery) ]

which is why I do my hunting during those times; I hear too many people talk about "a great sound shot" .. so I avoid "modern firearm" season and areas, like the plague

especially good when you win one of the special areas, when you are the ONLY hunter allowed on that piece of property; often this is a tree farm so the deer have been browsing on fir seedlings, makes for a nice tasting venison

luckily we are in a no-shoot area here (in some ways lucky anyway) so no one will be shooting my chickens "thinking" they are turkeys

the deer come out and stand at the end of our access, thumb their noses at us, since they know we cannot shoot them here

ALL hunters can legally wear camo...........but ALL hunters, muzzleloaders or archery, MUST have Safety Orange vest/hat on in the field.
Period.
Even when we bow hunt we MUST wear safety orange.
My Dad calls it "Glo-Winkie Orange"
All shooters of everything shootible must wear glo-winkie!

Please check page 13 of the WDFW game booklet Under the following conditions a minimum of 400 square
inches of fluorescent hunter orange exterior clothing
is required. It must be worn above the waist and be
visible from all sides. A hat, by itself, does not meet this
requirement.
Anyone hunting deer or elk during any modern firearm deer or elk general
season is required to wear fluorescent hunter orange clothing. All modern
firearm permit holders must wear fluorescent hunter orange clothing. This
includes archers and muzzleloaders while hunting in units (e.g. GMUs,
Deer, Areas, Elk Areas, Wilderness Areas, etc...) that overlap modern
firearm seasons.
Anyone hunting in an area that is open for modern firearm deer or elk
hunting must meet hunter orange requirements if they are hunting any
of the following species: Bear, Bobcat, Cougar, Coyote, Deer, Elk, Fox,
Grouse, Hare, Rabbit, or Raccoon.
During any upland game bird season, anyone hunting upland game birds
or rabbits with a modern firearm is required to wear fluorescent hunter
orange clothing. (Grouse are not upland game birds.)
Hunter Orange Clothing is Not Required:
During an upland game bird season for anyone hunting upland game
birds with a muzzleloading firearm, bow and arrow, or for falconry.
While hunting in a muzzleloading or archery only GMU and possessing a
valid muzzleloading or archery deer or elk tag.

Wouldn't that just tell the critters HERE I AM?? What happened to the camo gear?
Besides, I think for real safety, one should also have a bright orange seat.
Didn't someone shoot their buddies on the behind during a bird hunt a few years back?
Someone in DC?
