OK I need advice from the pro's. Today I was looking at my RIR B roo. I am thinking of showing him at Chehalis. Problem his tail feathers are not the smooth continous they should be see ya know how the segments tear apart. that is what hehas on his tail feathers. Is this a no for show.

Sounds like a condition thing. Even if you aren't sure, still enter. Then you can corner the judges afterwards and get tips and have them 'walk through' your bird with you. It really helps and it is how you learn. I will bring my standard to Chehalis, that also helps.

OK Not to pick on her bird but just using to show kind of what I mean. Look at the last pic in post 52717. see how the segments have come apart. Now if this was a arrot type they would just re-zipp it when they preen. This is not eggsactally but similar to my roos tail.

ok folks are ya ready for this? I am probably going to try showing some of my RIR B and Am B. Just gotta find leg bands for 2 Am and 4 RIR B. I have no clue what I am doing and maybe my RIR are not all worthy of showing but at least I can't be acused of being a bench racer.
If it ain't been judged by others then it is just another bench racer.

CR I have a big bag of bands & a bander.................meet ya there??????????

I don't know if my bands are small enough, but I always have a box of extra size 9 or 11 bands on hand.

So excited you will show! No matter who is judging, we usually have a couple locals who are APA judges in attendance- Paul Wiser and Brian Decker. They are great teachers!

It's just conditioning. One thing to do now is to go over the birds you are planning to show, trim toenails, and pull out any broken feathers. Don't wait!

Yes Brian is pretty much a neighbor. Well ok 5 miles is still neighbour in my book. I have no idea how the sizes are. They are for RIR B and AM B.
