MikeJanet... AWWW MAN! I've been wanting chickens from them for the last few months, but can't get over there (I don't drive in Seattle AT ALL and rarely across the bridge anyway, and it's easier to explain later than to ask DH first.

LOL). I would have begged and pleaded and added in a few bucks for shipping and handling if you could pick up some for me too. But I work 16 hour days on the weekends.

Perhaps we can all descend on them an have a unified BYC buy-out. Kinda like a quilt-shop hop but a poultry hop instead.

RE: Dels in PO.

I have noticed they're not as well stocked on chicken supplies lately. I wondered why... but seeing so many POers on here, maybe I got my answer. LOL

RE: folks looking to rehome chickens....

If you're close to Port Orchard, I'm looking to add to my flock. Standard hens & pullets only though. We're getting an BIG older roo soon and Ol' Red will be stressed enough by a trip from Pend Orielle county without having to into a bunch of other roos. Plus, I've got a bunch of hatching eggs and will have plenty of roos from that, I'm sure. Unless a miracle happens and I get all females.

Just drop me a note in my inbox. I'm also looking for non-show Nigerian goats too.

Hey.... Kitsap/Key Pen Chickenstock anyone? It'd be nice to see just how many of us there are!

I got my chicks from Del's in PO and if anyone is interested in any that are roosters let me know. They are suppose to be Ameraucanas. I just wish I knew when you could tell they are for sure roosters. They are 8 weeks old now but no one sounds like they are trying to crow yet.
I buy all my feed and supplies from this store.

Hi Herbs and Teas,
If I remember correctly almost all the chicks at Dels In Port Orchard save for the Cornish X were sexed chicks. Did the say they were straight run? How many did you get?

I guess I didnt notice. The answer to the last question would be 6. LOL

They told me they were sexed but we think we have at least 1 rooster. Since this is my 1st time with chicks how long does it take till I do know if it is a rooster. I got them May 30th and they were 3 days old then.

Should be able to tell by 8 weeks old. Look for secondary sex characterisitcs like red combs and sickle/hackle feathers coming in. As long as they aren't silkies, probably can tell by now.

But if anyone wants a pair of black silkies, I am looking to rehome them! Both are females.

Hey All!
I'm in North Seattle & I've got 3 lovely hens! This is the first time I've had chickens in my life & I love having them as pets! My cat doesn't mind either!

Here's our flock:
Freckles the barred rock
Miss Tutu the gold-laced wyandotte
Fanny-Mae the rhode island red!

My Freckles is over 6 months old & no eggs yet

I'm asking $25 for them both to anyone here on BYC. I have the listed on cragslist for $30. Hate to give them up but I'd like to down size to two coops vs the 4 I have going now.

Welcome amethyste! I'm just a stone's throw away from you!
