What breeds of chickens do you have? We have several members here that have ducks too.

Hello! we have a RIR, a Wellsummer, and a Barred Rock. I had to relocate the ducks, a bit too loud for the city but they went to a good home. Looking forward to getting more, once we get a little further out. I am trying not to get more chickens, but we'll see how long that last.

Illia:
Your birds seem content.
They are so pretty!
Do they have names?
My birds were at first very interested in them and the temporary "coop" but that was over by this morning.
The weather should be nice on Thursday.
I'll try to get a good shot of your birds in their new home on Thursday.
Meanwhile, here's a shot of the coop my daughter took this last week.

And here's one she took last winter when I was cleaning the coop.
(I'm pretty sure I've posted this one before.)
The birds free range in the backyard and sneak to the front every chance they get.
I won't let your birds out until they know where home is.

See I guess I miss all the fun and chance to upset all the birds by being S T U PID and just waiting until they have all gone to roost then I can calmly walk in and select the ones I want to catch. Silly me I could be putttin that big ole fishin net to work.

In cockerels/cocks:
White (I was going through pens this morning and have a couple really NICE birds I can part with)
Black
Splash

I would have a pullet that could go with cockerels/cocks of all colors- white for white cock/cockerel (Showable but not competitive, aka has no DQs but is not impressive), and blue (not show quality- great SQ body/type but has a bit off off color in the hackle so is pet or breeder bird) for black and splash.

She hasn't mentioned Silkies, but I will ask her when she gets home from school and get back to you. Thanks!!!

You're welcome! The blue girl is daughter of my hen that was Champ silkie at the western silkie nationals (over 100 silkies) and was also Rv Ch FL (my first starred win). If it weren't for the hackle she would stay....
however, the white cockerels and cock I have are looking really nice right now. If I didn't have some senior cocks that I adore I would be holding some back. One in particular I love- he's silver gene white.
