Everyone is Eprinexed. Got birds moved around and I think everyone is in their final winter quarters. I even have an empty pen! Now to change my stinky, poopy, muddy, wet clothes. Wow, everyone is finished or almost finished with their molt and their feathers are so thick and shiney. Pretty pretty birds! I have a few laying hens that will be leaving in case anyone is looking for layers.

Because it is in a pot, it will not handle temps that low. When a tree is in a pot the roots are much more vulnerable to freezing. The other thing is that in summer it will bake the roots. So it much better to plant a tree in the ground.

Yeah I told my DH I want it planted. lol But his argument is that it's a $200 tree, and he doesnt want to leave it hre when we finally do move. So I sudgested we plant it at moms... Thats a no go as well... So bring it in under cover of the porch, or should I put it in my way to cramped as is shop? lol Ok so potted jap. maples are a bad idea... Especially in full sun... I think I'll bring it at least up onto the porch and wrap the pot in something to help keep it from freezing... Is it to late to put it into the ground? Should I wait until spring? Can you tell Im not a very good tree person? lol

I would love to come out. But I am still DH's driver until sometime in Febuary.

So my time is very limited. The resteraunt that he works for closes at 3PM, and I have to be at my barn job by 3, or it gets kinda not fun bringing horses in at dusk on a clay mud hill... Not so horible when not preggers. But yeah. I would love to come out and visit. Best days for me are wed. and thur. I dont have to drive DH around on those days. I will eventually get to take some time to myself... Or at least that is my hope.

The two little boys I got from you are doing great! I'm fairly sure I heard the BW attempt to crow! It made me giggle, and I cant even discribe the sound!

I already forgot what/who's lines they are from... I should probably write that info down for my records. Those two little buggers are smart! They figured out the roost in the coop, they have also taught my entire flock to drink from a water bottle! Yippy for me! No more nasty water buckets that get filled with poo and mud, let alone nocked over all the time!!!

It would be possible to meet you in Federal Way, and share the rest of the ride to Chehalis. I have a Volvo wagon, that is fairly comfortable.

I'm thinking about going, too, but you would have to leaves Ari at home. Stumpfarmer, you want a ride?

I found a headlamp at a consignment store yesterday. I can do things to the chickens in the dark now. That came out sounding kind of freaky.

I made my own wine while in California.
FiL has 2 rows of Pinot Noir, about 40 plants, now will be 12 years old, perfect.
We had white wine grapes at our place.
We made some awsome wine!!!!!!!
I still have to get some "Island " vines here...cannot remember the whole name, island something, that grow well here.
Unfortunately, have not found a red wine grape that likes this wet cool clime.
If anyone knows, please PM me, I want to get them planted THIS fall.

My dad used to make wines. He made a huckleberry wine once that he still raves about. I remember being a kid and picking Dandelions at Perrigan Lake Park for my dad to make wine. Not sure hwo that ever turned out.

Mom made fruit wines in the seventies. Thirty years later my sister found a bunch of it in the basement. She opened one figuring if nothing else it could be used as wine vinegar. It was wonderful; like a madiera or some other sweet wine you sip in little glasses. She must have done a good job keeping out bad yeatsies.
