This is a fine place to post - although you may want to also put them in the auction section.

How much and what breed are your hens? I'm full - but if you have laying 1 year old hens there may be interested folks.

I just learned how to process - but seems a waste for a laying hen!

At 6:42am I am, at this particular point in my life, most likely asleep. Today was one of those days.

I have to get dressed and water chickens, feed the young Wyandottes and tether the sheep out for a couple of hours, and then when DH is fully awake and stuffed with sufficient painkillers to make it that far, have my one day of Christmas shopping, somehow.

Never have I more wished my sister drank alcohol or wore earrings (ETA: or read for amusement).

I did almost all my Christmas shopping on Etsy this year. I did order 1 items from a catalog, though. A Catapult kit for Alex. I'm hoping they will take it to Rattlesnake Lake and fling rocks into the lake, not my windows!

I should get The Nephew a book about building catapaults... wait, no I shouldn't, he's dangerous enough on his own.

I got a few things today- beyond wine from Vino Aquino, yay! And Dana's incubator home, more yay!

And came home to no disasters, and an egg, so yay indeed.

It's been an exciting day that way, I guess; we went east to I-5 from 6th in Tacoma and couldn't get over in time to stay off River Road, which, no big deal, we usually take 167 anyway, and 5 through five is always slow... except there was a collision involving a propane truck on River Road and we had to back track and take Pioneer and then ended up going all the way to Sumner onsurface streets... some day I'll figure out why my husband thinks the road maps belong in the trunk.

@Dawng I have one each EE, silver laced and gold laced wyandottes, buff orp, as well as 1 or two fo the black aussies in the hen variety. and thx I will post in the auction area as well

Hello!

Been crazy busy - working until the wee hours, etc. Ick. Poor chickens haven't seen me in the daylight forever - and I'm sure I missed lots here (as you can all talk a LOT!

)

Chickens are doing well - new ones still not laying - one pullet & one year old laying (out of eight that should be) thankful for the eggs!

Miss Henrietta is almost finished molting - poor girl is still pitiful looking though. I think it makes her more cranky!

A holiday decorating note from one of my newsletters:
Take care when decorating for the holidays around your coop/run area. The following are toxic to chickens: Holly (leaves and berries), Poinsettia (leaves), Hemlock (needles), Ivy (leaves), Mistletoe (leaves and berries), and Yew (needles and berries).

Hope you're all doing well! dawn

Last Christmas.

ETA: seriously, I think the best thing I could get her would be to find somebody to come and offer her husband $1000 plus a Boer kid for every pig he owns if he'd promise never to raise pigs again...

whats wrong with pigs?? I like pigs...mine were always good pigs. he got cheap pigs? I need more pigs...

pigs are fun.
