Well, sheep pen moved, wet hay raked up and stacked to compost, chickens all fed and watered and otherwise dealt with. Also indebted myself to the minimum amount acceptable for family members. Sort of.

DH is going to the doc tomorrow because his hardware is making noise. Not at all happy about that event.

I gave it to the dog, she thinks they are gold! its funny because every single misshapen egg I have found has had a hole pecked in it. like they knew it was defective or they were getting even for the pain in the tush when it came out, not sure which

I got some odd looking ones too.

Right angled on one side, round on the other. I also got one that is long and slender, as if mama duck rolled it like a lump of dough.
Also got quite a few soft smooshy ones....like a turtle's egg. I left it outside and it kinda dried up like a prune.

Well, the light has been up for about a week in the coop, hopefully egg production will improve over the next week or so. We did go from 3 a week to nine this week, and 2 more days to go. So maybe it's helping, or maybe it's just a coincidence and they are finally through their molt/moult (never can remember).

Odd thing though, when I went down and counted them, I found I have 3 more than I should have. I keep very good records of my hatching schedule, and sales etc, so somewhere, I really must have screwed up. They look like Australorps too, a variety I'm trying to get rid of. I really like how easy and friendly they are, they just go broody too much. And with our hawk problem, there's really no way I can have setting hens.

Well, maybe someone will want them in the spring. I know it's hard to sell chickens this time of year.

Got to butcher some cockerels over the weekend. "He who must be Obeyed" tells me there's to much crowing in the pasture. I don't know what his problem is, they only started about ten minutes before we got up - no big deal.

Well 3 boys are soon to freezer... Mom's off to babysit so I have to have it done before she gets back. She "hates" this part... she rather just come home to mat in freezer and not see anything else since she loves the chickens

Poseidon and his little lady Amphitrite are now in the quarantine coop. Hope to get a few eggs soon to hatch

Have to wait 3 weeks for my layers before I can hatch from them.....
