Are you going to take up raising Buff Orpingtons, too?

(You aren't otherwise similar to Agnes Twitterton).

Busman's Honeymoon reference. I seriously considered calling my BO Miss Twitterton.

I figured you'd get it. There's so much in that book which is implicitly about the way that women's lives in the thirties were still being shaped by the loss of men in WW1. Aggie and her hens and the church organ and her sad little passion...

Hi - well, I'm almost with you there - I used home rendered duck fat instead of bacon grease!

Argh, we still need to trade for duck fat- I've got most of a quarter of beef left for trading purposes.

not the English Lord Peter Whimsey stuff? Wow, didn't know it got all the way over here - how very cool!

I started reading Sayers after I ran through all of Agatha Christie, back in the late sixties. I tend to reread her stuff every ten years or so. Right now I'm rereading Brother Cadfael, and then probably V.I. Warshovski.

T Hi and Totalcolour are the bestest ever!

So does anyone grow duckweed? from what I've read it has something like a 42% protein content.
Looking for a substitute feed source for goats and chickens that I can grow or get cheap.
Figured I could use duckweed for protein and get bags of grains and make my own feed... might not work cost wise but looking into it.

as I recall, the big Hawaii thing was PRIMO beer ... Longboard, if I am remembering correctly, is much more recent; DH says the other traditional beer was Maui Lager ... Primo was produced on Oahu

much more Hawaiian is the rum made at the sugar plant, think it is marketed as Hana Bay Rum; also the pineapple wine made up at the winery at Ulupalakua (it's not bad !)

and the really traditional stuff is okolehau ... literally "iron bottom" ... from the pots which produced it

also ... kava .... I'm not touching that stuff !

speaking of Rainier and Olympia beers ... the current production of Rainier beer (made in WISCONSIN of all places! but available at Rite Aid) actually does taste like Rainier always did (maybe they ship the water out there) .. but I fondly remember Rainier Not-So-Light .... and the commercials with the "wild Rainiers"

actually, our community well is probably tapping into the same aquifer as the Olympia "artesian" water ... everyone marvels how sweet and pure it tastes

well, been watching the lavendar orp cam and I noted that it seemed like no one was eating. Took them out some meal worms and a pile of scrambled eggs this afternoon, which they scarfed down. Could not figure out what was going on....then it dawned on me....I switched the orps to a higher protein crumble. I didn't even think of making a "slow" cross over....so I just went out and threw them some of the "old" medicated crumble start-n-grow....right now watching them on the cam - scarffing. So now I gues I need to try and mix the two or at least offer both crumbles for them. Poor babies. At least I figured it out in time.

Chalk another one up to learning.....chickens CAN be picky eaters.

Another thing I have noted.......I don't think that Quincy and the girls really like sticking their heads into the bucket feeder I had made.....Will keep a close eye on them too.....don't want any of my babies going hungry.

wow...I must have missed a page.
You were spamming?
Was it because of the Huskies stuff?
Would there be any difference if I posted my boy at a high school game and I said "Go Pioneers"?
I am confused. I must have missed something.
