this is my tomato list so far... by planting time I've normally doubled the plants I planned

Isis Candy Cherry Tomatoes
Tigerella Tomato (small but larger then a cherry)
Black Cherry Tomatoes
Sioux Tomato (medium)
Riesentraube Tomato (cherry)
North Dakota Earliana Tomato (medium)
Seattle Best of All Tomato (medium)
Amish Paste Tomato (roma type)

The ones my Dad grew last year that were so prolific & absolutely perfect (size, color & repeated qualities week after week) are called "Cobra"
as in the snake.
I must say they were fantastic.
he raised them on a windowsill & then hardened up, after that buried in compost in his greenhouse....any row cover would work also, just to keep all this darn spring rain off the plants & allow the bees access.

Here is ONE link, they look to be at alot of seed companies:

I've always wanted to eat one, you know like they did in Mediaeval times, but they take so long to raise (I have a friend who raises them), they are quite expensive. Oh well. . . nothing wrong with chicken!

did you know that it used to be that Turkey was richmans bird while goose and duck were poormans....
now its the other way round....

Pea fowls I think were used as guard dogs rather then produced for food.... hence (if I am remembering correctly) they were mostly eaten in the winter holidays...
thinning the flock to house and feed over winter...

Its strange watching things cycle round and round in history and in life... I mean... who would have thunk that my niece would be taking all the old 50's 70's 80's clothing from the basement and they are "cool" again!

Growing up in England, I remember Granddad getting geese in the spring, and keeping them in the backyard until Christmas. I always wondered where they went after the holidays

So, I got six of Mia's Dark Cornish today. They are very nice birds, and from handling them (they are very calm) it seems she must have spent some time with them. One managed to get loose in the basement while I was putting food in the cages, but I soon got her cornered. Actually she got hersel wedged behind the cages and got stuck. It was then easy for me to get her out and settled in; after some stroking and gentle words of course.

So, Mia, I'm sorry you had to get rid of them, but they will have a great home here. And, I'm looking forward to hatching some little babies from them this spring. Maybe a St. Patrick's day hatch.
