I am making Monkey Bread.
Or Monkey balls...whichever.
I had frozen dinner roll dough in the freezer for DH, had 15 rools left...so I got a bread pan & greased it.
let the dough balls sit on the counter 10-15 minutes til you can cut them..cut in 4 pieces
roll in melted (but not hot) butter a few pieces at a time
roll in a bowl of cinnemon/sugar
place in pan.
Poured the bit of butter over & topped with a bit more sugar...
Stack the balls all atop each other gently...
cover with plastic wrap & let it rise

When it is fully risen, bake as you would bread.
Can be sliced, or torn apart in a gooey mess.
finger lickin good

I usually add chopped walnuts throughout as I stack the balls...but do not feel like cracking walnuts.

IT IS REALLY COLD HERE !?!?
Weird !
It is barely 40 and sure feels like snow to me...the air is very very heavy & cold...heavy with precipt I guess.

And of course, I cannot eat any of the Monkey Balls...as it is wheat bread dough....

Thanks, but I can't help thinking that there has to be a way to clean them without chemicals that could harm them...something that dissolves wax & can be safely used around bees, safe after rinsing.

Now I am no designer and hate working with sticks (wood) but here is an idea ya may wanna think about. See the cupboard above the fridge? Now most people have that is it really very useful? Pretty high for most to reach. BUT think about use the same style but make it a drawer and put it UNDER the fridge. We did this in the neighbors house and it works well. Just an idea.

the only use I have ever found for a cupboard over the fridge...cram stuff in there you dont know what to do with then never look at it again lol. its kind of like a junk drawer

I keep all the emergency stuff there. Candles, flashlight(one the kids can't abscond) small propane burner, etc. I don't like to have to hunt that stuff down when the power goes out.

CR- So if you put the fridge on a drawer... do you have to be a giant to reach the back of the top shelf ???

I would be willing to take one for the team and suffer through eating your share of the gooey goodies! ! ! ! Sounds like a real good idea while setting here next to the stove. I have no real reason to go out in this cold (33) until time to milk the hogg, slopp the cow and egg the chickenz.
I had plans to do a photo shoot today but given that I am getting a sinus type headache I think maybe I should scratch that idea. I just wanna take a long nap. But since I had told dw I would make stir-fry for dinner. The nap idea is out.

I have wondered about a BIG pot of boiling water and dunk them. I just don't know how much heat the plastic can take.
Again we just use sand blaster. But if ya don't have one that makes it hard.

Nope SO FAR it is working very well with no complaints.

Well, CR, from what I can find on line, the best way to clean the dirty ones is the way I cleaned the first few we got.
Dad let the frames sit out after the bees were taken away.
Unfortunetly, the frames still had a bit of wax on them, and the California heat melted dust & dirt into the wax.
The way I removed wax & cleaned the first few frames, was to get my big csalder poy about 3/4 full of water & heat to very very hot but not a boil, then dip the frames & gently scrub with a long handled dish type scrub brush.
Wax floats up & sticks to everything....and the water must get dumped & the whole process redone over & over until the frames are clean.
It's the only way to get all the cells clean...

WOW the Monkey Bread is in the oven, very excited & raised WAY up..sure smells good in here!
Starting to rain..sure feels like it could snow~~~~~~~~~
Anyone seeing any snow ???

Ok, not to start anything, just getting educated, I thought Cedar shavings were bad for chickens, that's why I've stayed away from them at all costs??? Obviously you are using them so??? also, I have never had much gumbo, I've tried shrimp gumbo, it was pretty good, I don't know anything about file`?? What is it?? I just remember it from the Ole' Hank Williams song!!! LOL

Cedar has a oil in it which isnt good for a lot of animals. Dont use it around the goats..

Sweet story CL - I have a super friendly RIR hen, not quite that friendly though! Mine bonded when I brought her in for the day when she was a pullet and was picking on her flockmates. She sat on my lap while I balanced my checkbook and read my e-mail, and then floowed me around as I did the laundry. Now she follows me whenever I go outside. But I'm jealous, my hen does not hug.

OHhhhhh thats cute!!! What a good girl!!! I like nice chickens!!!

I want to cut down my big-ol nasty on-steroids Wisteria and replace it with Lyda Rose. I used to think I liked Wysteria, before I missed trimming a few hard-to reach vines and now it is scrambling up my talles evergreens I have a grape vine doing the same, only one to ever get grapes in my yard, but the wildlife around here always gobbles up the fruit before anything ripens.

I have a Wisteria that has taken over my house!! It has grown so big it's on the roof, and trying to get into the sofets!! And we have been here almost two years and I haven't seen any blooms!! My husband wants to cut it down, but, part of it is growing on a trellis and in the summer it shades our back room. I think we need to seriously cut it back, and then see what happens! Course I don't know much about wisteria's so..???
