just got an email for internships at the Smithsonian in D.C.....   it looks interesting but i would have to provide food and housing....  $420/week stipend is what they give for graduates (which by summer i hope to be)

what do you think?   its for 10-16 weeks... but where would i find housing for that amount of time?   it would be impressive to have on a resume saying "i worked for the smithsonian"

My sister just moved from that area, I will ask her.

make sure to check out prices for food/rent/etc there. I would bet it is more spendy than downtown seattle.

What about house-sitting? Lots of people leave the District in the summer - too hot and humid...

I would LOVE to see some of our BYC friends at this show. T-Hi came to a show I stage managed earlier this season and had so much fun she attended twice!
I will say that although our opening night was delayed because of inclement weather and the Narrows Bridge being closed, that when we finally opened on Saturday night we had a wonderful and appreciative audience. I'd like to say it was because we have a successful show, but it may also have been a relief for many to get out of their homes for a change!
I am really loving this show - my "stage husband" is such a brilliant actor he gives me much to work with. It was wonderful to finally play before a live audience - their non-stop laughter during our scenes was very rewarding.

The show runs through February 14th - we have a special valentine's Day show with wine tasting. "Pay What You Can" this Thursday 1/26, and Actor Benefit 2/2 (meaning that's the night the actors actually get paid for a performance!) Please take note - there is some strong language in the show and one of our vignettes involves a hooker - so I strongly suggest audiences 13 and older.

Call (253) 272-2281 for tickets and information
Fridays and Saturdays 7:30pm
Sundays 2:00pm
Pay What You Can: Thurs. 1/26/12 at 7:30pm
Actor Benefit: Thurs. 2/2/12 at 7:30pm

Age Rating: 13+ (Adult Language and Situations)

Hi Washingtonian BYC members,
I need some help. I have been on the internet most of the morning trying to get some answers, but not finding exactly what I need. I have a chicken that is acting like it could be having some reaction to toxins. I have read about epson salts used to flush out the colon, what about magnesium citrate? I don't have any epson salts, but I do have Citroma. I know it is used to help flush out colons in people, I just don't know if it is safe to use in chickens. One big difference in the two is sugar and lemon oil used as flavoring in the magnesium citrate that isn't in Epson salts. Does anyone know if lemon is safe, or if anyone has used Citroma (magnesium citrate) on chickens.
Thanks,

DON'T GIVE IT SALTS. you will kill it. and too much sugar will give it the runs.

If you are trying to give the chicken the squirts in order to flush her out, thickly "butter" a piece of sandwich bread with Molasses, I mean THICKly, even cube in pieces & then pour on the Mo & mix up.
She should love it & it will help move things alone, if not fast enough, give her more & plenty of water.

auntpa-K......what do you think the bird ate?
Maybe de-icer?
Alot of people were using that stuff to melt snow, not us though.
Just wondering what it could have eaten (this time of year there is no slug bait or fertilizer out) ?
